I've bought one nightie for the hospital, but I know I'll never wear it again afterwards. I'm taking leggings and vests/tshirts apart from that. I just don't imagine I'll want to wear anything heavier than a vest.
What are the rooms like in everyone's hospitals? In mine it is very old fashioned and just has the traditional beds with a curtain round for before and after birth. No private rooms or anything nice like that! I hope I don't have to stay for long after baby comes as I know I won't sleep at all.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -

I've only packed one nighty too, the rest is leisure/yoga pants, trackies, vests etc
Our hospital has ward bays with the beds with curtains around but they do have a few private rooms too xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Thanks for the opinions on the painted room - I sort of managed a little nap in the spare room, and the paint smell in our room seems to be dying down a bit now that the windows have been wide open for a while. Moon is home now and has had a look and is pleased with it all. Cat still hasn't appeared (he obviously sensed someone was here when he popped in this morning and has hidden in a neighbour's garden or something).
I've packed silky shortish dressing gown that ties around me wrap-style for after the birth as it's light-weight and doesn't take up much room in my bag. Thought it may also be useful to wear if I'm breast-feeding or if I need to go down a corridor to use the toilet.
Our hospital has the traditional bays, but also has a couple of private rooms. I've been told by friends from my NCT class who have all had their babies now, that I should definitely try to get a private room if possible as it was very noisy on the ward. Apparently there are a couple of rooms that aren't ensuite in our hospital that only cost £25 a night, but the ensuite cost £80.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

what do they look like? mine are button up tops, so I could just unbutton them (no stretch though!)0
