I'm not taking one cos it's bulky and I will probably be too warm in one anyway.
What cross stitch are you doing? I'm still plodding along with mine. Ant says Jakey is waiting till I've finished it before he arrives - so by that standard he's gonna be about 3 months overdue lol xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Rups it's gonna be mid December and cold a dressing gown will keep you snuggly and will be good for those early mornings when you are up with bubba and want to be all cuddly with them. I will use my dressing gown at home just know that at present I am too warm all the time despite living in shorts and vests. We were discussing heating yesterday somewhere - facebook maybe - and I still have my bedroom window open cos it's too warm lol xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Hi Rups. I had my DD at the end November 2010 (snow, snow, snow!) and the hospital was still roasting hot! I had a light cotton waffle robe I got from Matalan and I have it in my bag for this time (early Dec). I think Matalan still do the same type of thing.
Sorry cross posted with Ikkle. I just mean for hospital, not at home. There isn't much room in a hospital bag for a heavy robe anyway.0 -
I had my consultant clinic apppointment today 28/29 weeks. She scanned and said baby is approx 3 lb 1 oz. Got blood taken and the midwife was excellent. I could hardly feel it!
The doctor I saw wasn't a consultant (maybe a registrar?) but the consultant last time asked how i wanted to deliver (I had a section last time). I said a section, he said no problem and didn't ask any questions. The doctor this time was asking why and trying to get me to try a VBAC. Eventually she said "Well Dr xxx is the boss and he has put it on your notes that you are having a repeat section."
Yeah! I was getting worried for a minute!0 -
yes i saw a waffle type one in primark and thought of the weight too as i have fluffy one at home.
i think will get it just in case if we have visitors etc etc.. the other day i went and got some stuff like pjs and slippers and then someone at work said, dont you want a water birth. lol itotally forgot and started buyng stuff. lol

Lol I knew I'd be quite quick with mine, so after starting a few weeks ago I put it away until yesterday so that I have it to finish at the end now. Mine is a teddy under a pink blanket, it wouldn't have been my choice but as DH got it I'm stitching it. I had picked out one I wanted to do and I'm tempted to still get that anyway. You're good at all crafty stuff so I'm sure you'll get it done soon
I'm glad no one else is packing their dressing gowns. MW told me I should for modesty. I did think that was a really weird comment seeing as I can't think of anything about giving birth that's very modest :rotfl: If I end up with 2 hours in stirrups having stitches again I don't think I'll be too worried about the lack of dressing gown!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
you will still want pj's for in hospital you don't wanna be walking around knacker bare lol, plus you have to remember it's not guaranteed that the birthing pool will be available when you are in labour and so you may not get to use it so it's worth having a nighty to labour in just in case. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I want a water birth but still bough pjs and sleepers. I like to be prepared
As for robes, I hadn't thought of that at all but I don't think I'll have any space left in my bag so I'll see how it goes.
KatyLiz - I'm so impressed you managed to get it all sorted in a few days! Well done!:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -

I think it's just where there's lots of little details that's time consuming plus I've been getting headaches so keep taking breaks. The lions head used four shades of brown or something but I'm getting on with it. Gonna grab myself a bowl of soup cos I'm nibblish and then get on with a bit more. xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
