thriftychap wrote: »No not like grandma. There is a company called fluff - fluffnappies on google(yes one word) don't want to spam so no link! That do them but funky ones. Pretty cool but I'm unsure if these are better than the reusable ones. Apparently it's the inside pads you take out to wash but I'm not sure I like the thought of putting them in our washing machine. The reusable or should I say washable? However are more fashionable??
They have a flushable/throwaway liner which catches all the poop so that doesnt go in your machine,
They are only 'better' if they suit your needs, Ive never tried them before out of pure laziness so will try them this time round as a cost saving exercise and also as im aware of the environmental impact.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
Is there two types? Throw away liner and washable? I really like the designs of the washable ones on the site I found but want to be sure.Mortgage overpayment01/05/11 - 31/12/2011£5000/£7000End of 2012 target£84000

I use reusable nappies. The actual nappy itself will have to be washed, but you can get reusable and disposable liners for the nappy. I personally don't like disposable liners, I have a boy and find as soon as they're wet, they scrunch up around his balls, and are pretty crap really. I cut up a fleece blanket and use that for liners. The poo comes off easily enough. If you own your house and drainage isn't great I wouldn't be flushing even the disposable liners down the loo, as it can clog up the drains, if you decide to use them I'd bag and bin probably.
There are so many different types of nappy out there I'd be here all day explaining it, so I won't bore youI'd say don't buy all 1 type of the one brand, as you have no idea what will fit better, some nappies suit chunks, some suit skinny legs etc, some are better at the beginning for runny poop some won't do so well with that. If there is a nappy library service near you, get your name down and try all the brands you can, that way you can give it a try. I know some websites, fillyourpants for example will let you try maybe 7 or 8 different brands for around £10.
Washing is simply a cold rinse, full wash at 40 or 60 with a quarter of your usual powder and then another cold rinse. You dry pail them in a bucket with a lid until you're ready to wash, I do a wash every 2/3 days. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
The general consensus I think is if its wee,put it in your pail wash it if it's poop, you can either scrape the poop off put it in your pail and wash it or bin.
If you'd like some info about using 'real' nappies (reusable) including the different types, different brands etc then this is a fantastic site http://www.goreal.org.uk/You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Never soak your nappies ikkle, it reduces the longevity, and on some nappies will void the warranty. As long as you don't leave them more than 48 hours with poop on, they shouldn't stain, if you do get any stains, sunlight takes it right outThe frontier is never somewhere else. It's strange, I've been desperate for baby to come for weeks, but now I've gone into a mild panic at the thought of it. I got my induction date this afternoon and went into a mini denial. I'm being induced earlier than I thought, the 28th, and it seems REAL now for the first time.
I've suddenly realised I only have 11 days to get organised. Yes, I really will have to go shopping and buy things, and it really isn't very far away. And the thing that feels weirdest is that providing all goes well next weekend will be our last one as a family of four. I've no idea why that seems so shocking, but it does.
It's taken me the whole afternoon and early evening to process the idea. I must sound completely nuts now lol!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -

dizsie,
Im going to go against the rest and say I can see her point of view, its her birthday she isnt expecting and if for her a good night out for her birthday is going somewhere particular and getting trashed then surely thats up to her ? What if there are others in the group that cant go somewhere for whatever reason, should she change her plans to suit all them too ?
If it were one of my friends in similar position, which has happened a few times now, we would arrange to meet up just the two of us and do something i could manage and she would have her night out without me. I think that my choice to be pregnant shouldnt impact others within reason.

2 days left  wooooooooo !!!
I have to say I agree with Mishka, it is your friends birthday and if I wasn't pregnant I would rather have a night clubbing than going for a meal.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0
