  • We're thinking both. Reusables for at home, disposables for out and about.

Sorry but I am completely clueless about this "reusable nappies" thing. What are they and how do you wash them? Are those like the old nappies my grandma used? Like a cloth you wash by hand?

They aren't quite as old fashioned as the old terry towelling ones, there are actually some really cool designs out there now but yes you put them all in the washing machine.

thans Aida. am excited too but now nervous, as when it gets here i will be expected to drive it lol.. scared.:(

hmm nappies.. i would go with disposables as i couldnt face handwashing but if they can go in the washing machine, it doesnt sound so bad, but do you have to rinse the poo out beforE? yuck. lol. i gag very easily. haha

so weird earlier as the inlaws came to see us quickly and when DH started talking about us getting more stuff now for the baby, MIL in went really quiet. i was chatting about the steriliser set i saw and also the cot bed furniture on offer. later after they went, DH just metioned that his mum is not keen on us getting stuff before hand in case we are tempting fate? i found that so bizarre and upsetting. yes i know i have lost a baby before, so does she expect us to get stuff when i am in labour? she said he could always get the bottles when needed. i was like erm what if baby doesnt breastfeed? anyway i didnt know she felt that if we bought things before hand, what id somehting happened to the baby? here i am trying to be positive and excited. humph. glad dh told her that we have to start getting stuff now. at least he has that in his head. how weird.

    Hi everyone, hows the weekend?

~I've found someone more emotional than me at this point in my life- my Dh's cousin- They are visiting from London and we took her mum and dad out for food, and my in laws too. She's 30 yo, single and quite shy, anyway she was trying to explain something to me 5 yo DD and i just told her, that she was using big words, DD wasnt going to understand that, she was only 5, she was sitting in one site of the table and me in the opposite. 5 Minutes laters she puts her hands on her face and starts crying on the table for like 10 minutes, then after her mum sends her to the toilet, she goes, stays there forever and comes bck with massive red eyes, and she kept like that through the whole dinner, crying on and off.
I knew i was me who upset her, and i felt very bad, i had no appetite and felt really out of place, although her parents, my in laws and DH were being nice to me. It ruined for me.
I had to apologized later on when at home, and she told she was having her period, and this is a normal thing for her...

By the way, i am 20+1 today ! This baby kicks me so much, i am so happy right now, got the triple screening results this morning, and everything is fine !

Some people are odd, rups, do and buy what you want. You will have to buy and organize the room at some point, better now that at least got the energy and are not big yet.... I like having everything even Maternity bag done before 30 weeks as i find the last weeks of pregnancy a nightmare and extremely tiring not sleeping well.
I poke my tummy and baby gets up too, it is so sweet.
Re- Nappies, i will use disponsable mainly cos my baby is due in winter, there is no way i could keep up with the washing up, it rains a lot here.

good idea about the winter.. me too. heheh i would rather chuck them. i am so bad. it will be my baby's poo but i cant do it. :)

yes i am glad dh told her that. it is weird. i am not that upset to be honest but just shaken in a way because it took me a long time (and you lot are all witnesses) to stop being so anxious and a worry pot. it has taken me ages to start enjoying this pregnancy as i was so worried about losing my baby. i dont need that now you know? i am cool though and as long as dh is happy buying stuff. i am too. started with the car today and then the carpet. we are not loaded btw.. we used a lot of our wedding vouchers towards the carpet. ;)
