Oh twinklie, you sound like you've really had enough, hugs. That's lovely that your DH is still taking such good care of you though. Good luck for the sweep tomorrow, fingers crossed it starts you off.

Welcome and congratulations mrsB :) Sounds like you've had a rough time so far with his pregnancy, I hope all goes smoothly from now on. It might be a few more weeks yet before your OH feels any movements, but that's normal so don't worry about it.

I'm glad you had a good baby shower Cake. What pressies did you get, anything for you or was it lots for the babies?

As for the hospital bag, mine's still not done either. Since I couldn't get the cheap holdall I wanted all motivation has gone. I think I'm subconsciously trying to make her arrive early by being completely unprepared, but it isn't working :rotfl:

I managed to stay awake for the whole of Paranorman. My poor DS was so scared though! It wasn't my kind of thing, but at least it was a good excuse for popcorn and sweets :) And bump seemed to enjoy the cinema, she was so active I struggled to sit still!

    Afternoon all :)

    Big congratulations Emsaint :j

Feeling a bit rubbish today, think my busy week has caught up with me, so just been chilling out today after a long lie this morning :D DH practised his massage techniques which we learnt at NCT yesterday which was very relaxing :) Beanie has been super wiggly too, which is nice, though I feel a bit bruised inside now:rotfl:

Just been writing a list for my hospital bag, going to go shopping on Friday for most of the bits as I have my first day off.

hi sweeties. hope you are all well.

Congrats emsaint - what a lovely name!! :) looking forward to hearing more about it from you when you are rested and settled!

Welcome MrsB. I hope you are feeling more reassured now and we are here to listen and help too. xx

Am shattered again today. Still have the sore throat but i havent stopped. since waking up, had a good clean of the kitchen and got tired. lol. Then my mum came ovr, which was so nice as dh complains she never comes round, so was pleased she came and she was chatting away telling us about her 3 week holiday to India she has just had. :0) dh was anti social and watched football. lol.

i am just chilling now and am knackered. was washing up etc and now i cant be bothered. was nice also with just me and DH being here, and now BIL is back. :(

Marta, my mil did say she will get us the moses basket from ages ago. and she never told me those things. she has been telling dh about us tempting fate etc etc so i am pleased when yesterday she started errming and urring about us getting stuff so dh just told her. i am glad though. have to start packing my wheely suitcase for the hospital bt am too tired. was ravenous today as have eaten smaller meals so when mum came i had mini samosas and a mars bar roll and a few crisps. lol. want more food and baby's moving. :)

i want to sleep. not sleeping well. i am wondering how long my kitchen will last clean. i made such an effort and mopped and everything lol.

glad you had a fab shower cake. katyliz, glad you also enjoyed your day out at the cinema.

i am just going to be a couch potato now.. will let hubby do stuff now.. anti social lol

  • Congratulations Emsaint!

Can't quite get my head around the fact that I was 37 weeks yesterday  I'm so excited to meet the bean, but I'm scared to wish it to hurry up, as I've still got so many things which I wanted to get done  Bean's hospital bag is now packed though, and mine is sort of packed as we were away this weekend. Just need to transfer to another bag.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend? I'm so sleepy, but I have to stay up at least long enough to have pizza and watch Downton Abbey :o

Sorry but I am completely clueless about this "reusable nappies" thing. What are they and how do you wash them? Are those like the old nappies my grandma used? Like a cloth you wash by hand?
marta, you can get the old nappies your grandma used but most reusuables now are much cooler and easier. We're going to use reuseables, I decided to go for ones which have an inside and a waterproof cover so I could tumbledry them, but there are many different types and many different fabrics. Some of the fleece type ones are apparently very quick drying. There is a wealth of info out there (too much IMO!) if you are interested let me know and I'll dig out a basic intro for you :)
As bikeless (I think) said, the poo should get caught by a liner which you can either flush down the loo or shake the poo off and reuse (depending on the type) and you then put the wet (but hopefully not poo covered) nappy in the nappy bin which has a mesh lining bag inside. When you have enough dirty nappies you put the whole bag in your washing machine and away you go.
