Awww no more 69 for me!
I was supposed to have my 20 week scan on Tuesday but got the time wrong, it was supposed to be 11.40 and I thought 2 (the time I had my 24 week one!) anyway I called and they were really nice, they said it happens a lot, preg lady brain!! It's rescheduled for next Tuesday at 10.40 definitely 10.40 and I'll be 22 weeks that day so quite late for it, the 24 week one is a detailed fetal cardiac scan as i have a slight heart murmur and leaky valve but little Sis has a pacemaker so her condition could be hereditary. I'm wondering if they might just do it all together on Tuesday but won't mind going back on the 28th (at 2pm!!) for another peek.
I'm intending working until the end of the year Jules so I'll be 36 weeks and a few days, if there's still lots to do in January I might stay on for the first week and work to 37 weeks but that'll be it.
Only you ladies- and other preg ladies- are going to appreciate this and have sympathy- I'm making lasagne for tea and have just tasted the bolognaise, it was so hot I got a shock and sort of inhaled it resulting in a coughing fit which made me wee a tiny bit!!!:o:o:eek:
I'm only 21 weeks, although with second child and never had any pelvic floor issues during or after the first. The pelvic floor exercises start today!!
Well done on your driving test Rups!!MARCH GROCERY CHALLENGE £118/ £2500 -
minted good luck for the scans! I had a fetal cardiac scan at 22 weeks. I would've thought you'd have a heart specialist rather than the usual sonographer doing the cardiac scan, so you'll probably still have to go back again for that.
I'm useless with the pelvic floor exercises. I always forget to do them, and with this being baby number 3 it's probably not good in the long run. I only remember to do them when someone posts something about a leak!!
shery I didn't realise the isofix was so expensive! And you're not the only one who likes moving up the list, I can't climb up it quick enough lol.
Sararara - glad you had a good holiday, it sounds like it was a lovely rest.
Rups - I've given up completely on maternity jeans. They were always falling under my bump, and then since 30 weeks they've just fallen down as I walk giving me a builders bum! It's leggings every day for me now as nothing else fits.
Have a good evening everyone. I'm exhausted so I'm heading up to bed for a very early night as soon as I've got the kids tucked up in their beds.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
minted sorry to hear about your cooking/tasting catastrophe. I've just finished making lasagne for our dinner too (made enough to freeze a couple of portions too so that we have some more ready-meals for when Bean arrives). I don't know if it's cos Bean is in a different position now (affecting my bladder so I go for a wee more often so don't very often fill my bladder), or whether it's cos I've been doing a lot more pelvic floor exercises, but I was quite impressed that I no longer have the leaking when I sneeze or cough problem.
Make sure you do your pelvic floor exercises as they do really help. Someone said that you should try to do them every time an advert is on whilst watching tv, but I must admit I'm not that good at doing them that regularly. Maybe we should all aim for every time we read someone has got an appointment or had a scan on this thread, that we do 10 minutes then?
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Rups, mine is in cultural studies, identity and gender online. I am looking at a specific latinamerican forum where traditional latinamerican culture clashes with american culture, and how women there regulate the group's idea of femininity, what is acceptable, etc. It is interesting to see how the same problem gets not only different solutions and approaches, but the attitude towards the one asking for help is also different. I was going to continue this year, but tbh with the pregnancy at first I was too tired and now I can't really think of anything but baby stuff!! So I decided to apply for a break, I am taking the whole year, if I see my motivation comes back, then I'll return earlier.
Thanks for the Asda heads up!! I need to buy some more.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Re pelvic floor exercises
I've been trying to do mine, but I don't think I do enough each day. The company who ran our ante-natal classes hire/sell a tens style machine which stimulates the pelvic floor to contract. Tempted through laziness but think would probably have to wait until next year.
BTW you purchase the bit that goes inside, it's the machine itself that's available to hire if you don't buy.Little man arrived 13 Dec 20120 -
Oh, and to the people who were concerned about flying - I was 27 weeks on the way out, 28 on the way back, took my notes and the printout from EasyJet's website (clearly stating you can fly up to 32 weeks with no problems), and I didn't get stopped at all - they just weren't interested. I'm measuring exactly on for my dates, so i've got a definite bump - so my experience was that they're not that strict on it.
ferry also didn't bat an eyelid (28 & 29 weeks)0 -
Thanks to whoever posted the link to the thermometer (sorry have forgotten your name:o) I have just bought it for 25p as I had some credit for some books I had sold
had my 28 week midwife appointment yesterday. Was a waste if time, well apart from hearing heartbeat for first time. Just took blood, blood pressure asked if I wanted to go to antenatal (whilst shaking her head:cool:) and despite me asking the other midwife a very important question 12 weeks ago and her assuring me I would get an answer at 28 weeks, this one couldn't help me and said I would have to wait until 36 weeks for an answer
The thing is I asked as I had an issue with this with my first and I never got the answer before I delivered! I fear it is going to be the same this time. However, this time I will complain to the PCT if it isn't resolved, although it won't necessarily help, it'll make me feel better
Sorry for the grumble, on a more positive note a chance conversation at work meant I found out I will still get my full child are vouchers paid for by work on top of my SMP when I go on to it. This means I'll be £220 better off every 4 weeks :j this will make a massive difference :money:
Hope everyone is ok. Labour vibes to all who want them0
