  • Thanks KatyLiz - I have been trying to reassure myself that its just because of the placenta. Have you noticed any more backache this time than before? I have noticed my back hurts a bit more and wondering if its due to the fact that the placenta isn't there to cushion it? Lol! In fact taking the aches and pains as reassuring that things are going the way they are supposed to!

awh you guys are sweet. i try and entertain if i can (when i am not worrying). hehe... so weird how placentas end up being, all the water retention, gas etc etc.. wonderful experiences we are all sharing. :)

well after little bubba is here, i intend to buy myself a new wardrobe too - courtesy of hubby..:) well lets see how right he is about the baby room. i will leave them all to do the heavy lifting and assembling. :) niiiice

Nephthys I do have a lot of back trouble, but in my case I think it's just a part of the SPD. I'm not sure if the placenta would have any affect on your back, might be worth asking the next time you see your MW though. Are you going to find out what you're having when you have your scan?

  • DH has finally admitted he doesn't want to find out so no - going to keep it as a surprise. We'll ask his grandad what he thinks baby is as he was right about DS (and everyone else was totally wrong - all said he was a girl). Interestingly I was adamant that DS was a boy from the beginning! This time I don't know!

The back thing may stem from the pelvic gridle thing - I did think that was likely the case. I had SPD in combination with pain in the sacro-iliac joints and other areas so was all lumped under the term of Pelvic Girdle Pain. Funnily enough it was my first pregnancy symptom this time. It has got quite bad in the last few days (had hoped it wouldn't!) so am expecting to be back on my crutches anytime soon. Never mind! It'll be worth it in the end!

Great idea Rups, a clothing spree post baby is lovely. I can remember feeling very self-concious about my weight after having my daughter and getting some new clothes that fit well really helped make me feel more confident.

Whoever was talking about eating cakes earlier has made me hungry again - I'm off down the shop in a minute for something nice. Since I stopped worrying about only eating healthy things baby has been growing so much better, so I've stopped feeling guilty if I want chocolate or chips :D

fair enough Nephthys. i had the same and now am glad we didnt find out and i still havent peeked to look at the piece of paper. so funny though. last night, was watching greys anatomy and in there one of the doctors is pregnant and she said she was having a boy and its known that only men are known to suck the energy out of a woman! lol

katyliz dont feel guilty. :) i try my best but if i eat bad things i just let it go and enjoy it. hehe. i enjoyed my chips yest and did think of you too.:) i know i have weight to lose after birth of bubba but will work on it after and make myself a yummy mummy and buy lovely clothes so when i have some energy, i will chuck my tight clothes away and buy new stuff that will be in fashion. hehehehe.. well i have got the green light to buy stuff so trust me, will make the most of it. hehehehe

I hope it doesn't get as bad as last time for you Nephthys. I started to get the pains from very early on too, which was a shock to me as I'd had no problems at all in the past.

I've never had the patience to wait and see what I'll be having, but it must be quite nice having that instant of surprise as baby is born.

Right, I am getting up and getting to the shops. Time to buy something for baby. I finally agreed to give in to DH and buy more sleepsuits/vests/bedding over the next week or so. That'll leave me time to get it all washed and sorted by 38 weeks. Which for me at the moment counts as highly organised :D

Nepthtys, when do you have your scan ? I have mine on the 21st !!
Also with DD i was sure she was a girl and she was !! this time, i think it is a boy but not sure really.

Rups, let him deal with it, men are strange creatures, they dont get our emotions and sense or emergency to have everything ready.

Katy, hummmmmmmm cake, i want more but there is none !

Women's instincts can be trusted. Apparently pregnant women are right about the sex of their baby 71% of the time (all else considered you'd expect a result of 50%). Sonographers are right only 80% of the time, so just going with your gut reaction is almost as good as the scan.

I wasn't one of the 71% :o. I was convinced Freddie was a girl until he popped out and I saw his enormous ballbag :D
