OMG how am I number 32 on the list... it's going too fast!
Quick question for people who are going on/ have gone on maternity leave and have/will have their role covered by others in their absence... were you involved in the recruitment process for your maternity cover at all?:dance:£2 savers challenge:dance:£152/£200:naughty:Still trying to pay off my CC£3,800/£4,343 paid off0 -
I know, i'm 30 on the list now !!!
I got signed off work 5 weeks ago and have been signed off for my final 3 weeks at work. I dont think they would have been replacing me if i'd left when i should, my work has just been distributed throughout the team.Mummy to Isabella - March 2008 and Daisie - September 2012:A - November 2011 (mc)0 -
30 & 32.... try 16th!!!!! Aaaahhhh!!!!
I wasn't at all involved in sorting maternity cover for me but I'm a teacher so it might be different for me anyway.
I can't remember who it was who said about my risk assessment (maybe sexymouse?) and I have had one at work, but it was really vague ie. no heavy lifting/ climbing up ladders to do displays... it even said that I wasn't expected to stay late for meetings and functions.... I was really, really tempted to question if I should have been at parents evening (which goes on until 9pm!) but decided it might not have been best! I guess because I was still expected to teach P.E. and I also still ran the Dance Club it never quite made it onto the risk assessment!
Very quiet on here this weekend... we're off to see the Paralympics tomorrow evening and I'm sooooo excited :j My OH just keeps saying... don't go into labour, just don't go into labour!

I'm NEXT after the boldies! Eek.
My maternity cover is just someone who has come over to our office on secondment for a year from head office. He lives closer to our office than head office so made sense. Plus I'm hoping they will keep him on and let me go back part time, depending on whether workload has increased by the time I go back which I'm sure it will.0 -
Antenatal was good, I left there really excited about meeting the babies! Only thing was a girl had a fit not long after we started. That was quite scary, didnt sound like she had one before. Was really warm in there though. They left just after so were only 3 couples left for the class.
Hope everyone is well, v quiet here today:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
Glad you enjoyed the antenatal Cake. My daughter has epilepsy, so for me fits aren't too unusual, but they can still be scary. Hope the lady was was ok.
Have fun at the Paralympics Sam, what event are you watching?
It is quiet on here today! Nothing much happening with me, just enjoying doing absolutely nothing whilst the kids are away. Oh, but I am finally starting to feel heavily pregnant and squashed from the inside. Hopefully it means she's still growing wellAnd my pregnancy bladder has kicked in big time, so I'm guessing she's heading down now. I can't seem to last more than 45 minutes in the daytime without going to the toilet lately!

Oh Katyliz, tell me about it! I've barely got out of the bathroom before I'm feeling like I need to head back there again...sooo annoying! It's weird though, cos quite often I forget that I have a bump, until I accidentally bump it into something, or sometimes it feels heavy
Can't believe I'm 35 weeks today  Still haven't even packed my hospital bag. I feel like I'm doing a lot, but not a lot seems to be getting crossed off the 'to do' list. Guess I'm just kidding myself...think I'm more mentally busy than actually busy
Having said that, I've been wondering since last night why my upper arms are so achy, just realised it's probably from balancing atop a ladder fitting up a new kitchen light yesterday. doh
Hope everyone's having a good day.0 -

I'm always in the bathroom at the minute too - especially at night. Its such a pain. I feel like I'm bursting for the loo, get there and its only a trickle! So annoying.
OH and I had our first NCT antenatal class and it was really really good. We both enjoyed it and met some lovely people.0
