Yep Gaviscon tablets are fine, although I've found that so much if them sticks to my teeth that I don't think I swallow any :rotfl: liquid is better for me, also rennies type basic antacids.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Ok, so I am teacher, on school hols at the moment, going back to school next week and I'm intending on working up until my due date (21st Sept).
Just received a text from school, a group text to all staff, saying that on Tuesday we should all bring P.E. kit to school and be prepared to participate in a 'vigorous post-Olympics netball INSET (training) session'.
Would it be unreasonable of me to question if I should actually fully participate in this session at 37 and a half weeks pregnant? Just thinking that I will have to go out and buy said P.E. kit as there is no way I'll fit into ANY P.E. or gym clothes now and I'm not entirely convinced that it is best for me to be around several flying balls and competitive teachers in a netball game scenario.
Clearly I understand that I am still expected to 'do' my job in all capacities and that the last paragraph could be deemed a refusal to do this... If I say I won't do it. Just wondering what you all made of it? Is it unreasonable for me to question it? Or should I just shut up, put up and get my bum to a shop to buy some P.E. clothes that fit!?!
Thanks!!!

I don't think it's unreasonable at all - can you contact your head of department/line manager to confirm what you should do? I really doubt they'd be expecting you to participate in vigourous netball at 37 weeks!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

I hun, I'm just popping over from the Newborn thread.
I work in a Secondary School and last year when I was PG we all had to go Bowling for our Inset Day and do team building exercises! I was only 24 weeks gone, but had a complicated pregnancy and told our Head that I wasn't happy to participate, he was more than happy to let me sit out and didn't ask me any questions! I wouldn't have been happy playing netball, especially knowing how competitive some teachers are (PE Staff in particular!!)

Your employer has the responsibility to do a risk assessment of your capabilities when pregnant Sam, and doing that sort of PE when that heavily pregnant, or pregnant at all, could be seen as quite a risk. Has your employer sat down and done a risk assessment with you? I'm a supply teacher and mine has done one with me (things like having a TA or other member of staff nearby, no heavy lifting etc).Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

I've bought one of these for the crib http://www.boots.com/en/Bibs-and-Stuff-Mattress-Protector-Pram_1035206/. They do cotbed size as well but they are quite dear.
Well, my brothers wedding was yesterday and what a fantastic day it was. All day long I had people asking me if I was okay though. We arrived at the church at 11am and I somehow managed to stay on the go until 1.30am! I really enjoyed it but am paying for it today - every single bit of me hurts now. Was worth it though. It looks like we're definitely having a September baby now (yay!) and just waiting for something to happen. I am looking forward to having my body back and really hoping I don't go overdue.0
