Congratulation Kitten!!! So happy for you :j:j:j.

Ladies did you buy our breast pump second hand or new? Does Avent bottles fit Medela pump?

There should be a small bottle, a medela one, that comes with the pump. You then attach that, pump in to there. I just then transferred it into freezer bags and labelled it and froze it until I wanted to use it.

Word of advice from my first, the only bit of advice that I followed from gina ford was to start pumping even minute amounts after two weeks and storing them. Otherwise when baby has a growth spurt about 6 weeks your body won't have enough milk to feed their hunger. This is often the time that most people give up. I didn't pump every day or anywhere near as structured as she had in her 'plan' but I did as and when I felt I had time and could and it made a big diffence.

    Hope that helps someone.

Massive congrats kitten. Like many, I've been lurking regularly for your post :D

    Ok ladies birth story time.

Show at about 7am on Monday 27th contractions soon after. Went to mlu to get examined - 2 bloody cm. did sweep and apparently plug came out more.

More contractions through the night - went in again 7am ish to mlu again. Still only 2cm but clearly regular contractions did another sweep and said u can go up to consultant led for induction. Went up got a private room due to latex allergy whoop. Sat around contracting. Three hors later I wanted pain relief. Was refused gas and air as not in established labour but said u can have pethidine. She examine me agai to check I wasn't established still 2cm. Took the pethidine. Slept a lot. It wore off by about 6pm. I sent oh to go get midwife as I felt like they were very close. She said sheds t want to examine me as new shift was coming on and they would want to examine me but no reason why I can't have gas and air. While waiting for it she realized how close contractions were and said oh dear I better check you. Gas and air yum 5cm dilated up to delivery an hour later.

Queue more pethidine and loads a gas and air. Had to be on constant monitoring due to baby being so over due and big. Can't really remember much until pethidine wore off - queue lots of waters breaking and wetness and ouchie noises head out then I wedged people to hold my legs back to get rest of him out cos he was so big.

Popped out - he didn cry I was panicking - turns out he just a chilled wee man as his apgar was nine.

Got stitched up. Second degree tear. Fed him Shower and back down to out room by 5am - then they asked when I was going jenny grumpy old midwife. To which I replied when I'm ready lol.

Wee man is an angel. Stitches not so good apparently they missed a bit so just have to see how it heals. Home now. He's a hungry boy breast feeding then being topped up by 20. Ml of formula as my milk not in yet.

I have no idea how I managed to do it at all. Other half was majorly supportive! His name is Myles by the way. If anyone knows how to put a pic up from Facebook feel free :)
love you lots like jelly tots :o

    Hey, just an observation...

I bought a electric breast pump but i am only planning to use it so DH can share the experience with me and give me a break, also MIL can look after baby maybe an odd time when we go out.
When my little girl was having a growth spurt (sp?) all she wanted to do was to be at my breast all the time, which i left her, then my breasts started producing even more milk to cope with her demands... i never heard that they go hungry when they are havin a growth spurt?
