Dexter is now at the kicking me in the ribs stage. Boy does it knock me for six!
I'm 25+5 and have only put on the weight of the baby so far and I have to have extra growth scans because my BMI is low but apparently some people don't put on that much weight with their babies so I wouldn't worry too much.
Also, is it jut me, or is alot of maternity clothing really drab and boring? We're going away to an Anniversary thing next month and I want a nice outfit to wear but the maternity clothes just look boring.
Im 38 weeks and have only put on 12lb and at my scan the baby was estimated to weigh 6.5lb so add on the placenta and water I've not gained any weight. I gained at least 2 stone with the other 2 pregnanciesWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
I don't carry my notes around with me yet dizsie - I thought you only need to do that after about 37 weeks as you're at term then? I obviously take them to every appointment with me, but other than that, they stay at home. Will have to start carrying them from Sunday onwards if we're out and about. Trouble is, making sure that I remember to take them in from the car if we go out in different cars.
I was always told with all 3 pregnancies to always carry them as if you faint, have an accident etc or anything else that needs medical care its important they know your pregnant and how far etc.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

Hi everyone
could I join please?
I'm 16+3 today (first baby) and would love to speak to others as I'm the first of my friends to have a baby so feeling a little on my own at the moment.
Yesterday I woke up to some bleeding (red and watery. was only a little and stopped soon after it started). Went to the hospital and got checked over and everything was fine luckily! I also had a little bleeding at around 6 weeks, again all was ok!
Has anyone else had bleeding and gone on to have normal pregnancies? I know a lot of the ladies on this thread are much fuurther along than I am so would like to hear others experiences.
Feeling worried but trying to remain positive
I had unexplained bleeding at 21,22,23 & 24 weeks and was checked in hospital as it was bright red and my DD is now 21 months, was 8 lb 4oz and perfect. I was told that some wpmen just bleed with no explanation. I seemed to bleed after slightly overdoing it (cleaning/long day at a wedding).0 -

They should be paid. That's the point of them being limited to 10 in the whole of your maternity leave, so people don't return to work and continue to get SMP on top of salary (as SMP is refunded to your employer by HMRC).0 -

Thanks CL that really reassures me!
The only thing I did differently before the bleed was accidentally sleeping on my tummy for some of the night. But not sure if that would have caused it!

I was checked for cervical erosion (I was told this was nothing to worry about), for the position of the placenta (not low lying as they thought might be the problem), and swabbed for and infection (none present).
It was very stressful, but was told they could find nothing wrong. But I was told that I should attend the hospital for checks every time it happened. My DD was 11 days over, so it was no indication of early labour LOL.0 -
oh gosh yes we have those keep in touch days too. will use them to the maximum as my maternity pay is so crap.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
