Our NCT classes were less than that as well. £214, including a years membership at £40. We went to a NNS and I'd say we saved at least £40 on the stuff we bought, and it was worth being a member to get in early as there wasn't a lot left in some departments after the 15 minutes was up! There are a lot of hours included in that price as well, we have 3 evening classes of 2 hours (including a breastfeeding session and a hospital tour), and 2 Saturdays 10-4, plus a meet up evening at some point in December once the babies have arrived.
Our classes start next week, I’m really looking forward to them. Mostly viewing them as an opportunity to meet people at the same stage as us etc, as we moved here 2 years ago and I don’t know anyone apart from work friends, and no one that will be on maternity at the same time as me. 2 of my sisters have done NCT classes, and stayed good friends with most of the people they met.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Also, is it jut me, or is alot of maternity clothing really drab and boring? We're going away to an Anniversary thing next month and I want a nice outfit to wear but the maternity clothes just look boring.
And what is it with the stripy tops?! I like stripes as much as the next person but I reckon at least 40% of maternity tops are stripy! It's like the manufacturers have thought "s0d it, the pregnant ones don't really mind what they look like. Stripes will be fine for them".
How hard can it be to make the same style tops in a few different printed fabrics?!0 -
Hi All!
Only just found this forum - I'm due a week today with my first baby, team pink!
I did the NHS classes & am attending a Babynatal class (£30 per couple) on Saturday so I'll let you know how that goes!
I was looking at an NCT Postnatal course which is £84, not sure if I can justify that much though!0 -

Good Morning Ladies J
LadyM I think all the maternity clothes are pants too…all I have bought is maternity leggings though because I still fit into most of my clothes anyway… not sure what I will do once the weather turns though….
WOW that is a big baby RJH!!!
Welcome JessJ … don’t imagine you will be with us too long then!
Saw the midwife for my GTT test today… I think she was the reserve midwife…apparently all the usual ones were out on home births. She butchered me taking my blood, measured me wrong, told me I was only 25 weeks and due 11/12 when I’m nearly 29 weeks and due 17/11, couldn’t tell me ANY details about the pelvic pain physio I am being referred too and in general left me with very little faith in her!!! Will ring Monday and make sure she has actually done the referals she says she has!
Hands up…. How many of you really do can your notes around? Should I start doing this now…she gave me a hard time about it so I guess I should but it does seem a bit OTT L

Dizsie With my last pregnancy I kept my notes in the car from about 20 weeks, but I had bleeding for weeks 21-25 and had to go to hospital a few times to get checked, so I wanted to make sure I have them. They are currently in a kitchen cupboard.0

I don't carry my notes around with me yet dizsie - I thought you only need to do that after about 37 weeks as you're at term then? I obviously take them to every appointment with me, but other than that, they stay at home. Will have to start carrying them from Sunday onwards if we're out and about. Trouble is, making sure that I remember to take them in from the car if we go out in different cars.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

My notes are on the coffee table in our sitting room. I live 5 mins from hospital so if I needed to go in I'd pop home and collect them, or DH could bring them easily enough. I do pack them when we go away though, even just for the day, after I had a bleed at 14 weeks the one time I didn't bring them, and couldn't get through to the maternity unit via the hospital switchboard!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Mine come with me 90% of the time if I'm heading to work, I usually have a bag with me anyway (of the non-handbag type, I'm not a handbag person) and if there was something wrong in an emergency I'd much rather have them with me than not. If I'm nipping to the shops or whatever though, they usually stay home.0
