I was just reading about the cutbacks they are going to be making in the NHS for childbirth - has everyone else read about it? It's quite worrying to think that epidurals and caesareans aren't going to be as readily available. It doesn't seem fair to me that women shouldn't have the full choice of pain relief. And as c-sections aren't currently allowed without medical reason I can't see how they are going to cut back on this without putting lives in danger.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800

If you are that tired an run down you are actually unwell... a sicky is when u went out drinking the night before and can't be bothered or if the weather is good and you fancy chilling in the garden!:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -
That is crazy! I havent read that yet but still they cant just do that! It is totally unfair esp if women need it so badly.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

thanks dizsie. that makes me feel better, as i was starting to feel guilty. i might do that and just stay in bed. now i found out the DH wants to work from home as he is !!!!!!ing off to Scotland this weekend so will prob find it easier to go from home. well as long as he is 'working' downstairs i can sleep upstairs or just relax in the messy house of ours.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Hi everyone
could I join please?
I'm 16+3 today (first baby) and would love to speak to others as I'm the first of my friends to have a baby so feeling a little on my own at the moment.
Yesterday I woke up to some bleeding (red and watery. was only a little and stopped soon after it started). Went to the hospital and got checked over and everything was fine luckily! I also had a little bleeding at around 6 weeks, again all was ok!
Has anyone else had bleeding and gone on to have normal pregnancies? I know a lot of the ladies on this thread are much fuurther along than I am so would like to hear others experiences.
Feeling worried but trying to remain positive
yes, I had a short bleed at around 14 weeks - rang NHS direct and got phoned by a GP (as couldn't get through to maternity services in my area and we were away from home). No problems, and it stopped by itself. Nothing since then, now 29+2moneypenny21 wrote: »Congratulations RJH on your baby! That is a great weight well done you, no wonder you felt so uncomfy at the end!
Hi to Kitten and emsbet if you are lurking, hope you are both well
dizsie - excellent bargains
b_girl - I had bleeding between 9-15 weeks which has *touch wood* stopped and I'm 25 weeks now. It is absolutely horrible to experience and the only way I could set my mind at ease was to get it checked every time whether through a scan or hearing the heart beat. Welcome to the thread
My hospital notes are at home and as we are five mins from the hospital they will be staying at home as I'm extremely likely to lose them if they leave this house on a daily basis!
Does anyone know anything about Keep In Touch days at work? I'm mainly interested to know if they are paid or not? I've been advised that they aren't paid by my work but I've heard that some places do pay for them - is it variable between companies?
I think it depends on if you're on SMP or enhanced maternity pay - at my company we get full pay for 9 months, so wouldn't get any extra pay for KIT days, unless they were in the unpaid 3 months at the end (which I'm not taking anyway!). If you're on SMP though, I think you're legally entitled to be paid for them.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I am very good at advising others but not at taking my own advice! I am always feeling guilty when off work unwell!!! Just won another ebay bargain £10.50 for a m&p wooden highchair that turns into a table and chair when they are bigger
New i can find them for £44 so quite a good buy

Rups if you're not feeling well then you need to take time off. You don't want to run yourself down and feel worse. And I bet your messy house isn't too bad compared to my pigsty, so relax and don't stress about it. I realised you said earlier that your BIL is still there, is he not tidying up? I thought you'd got rid of him by now!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800

Lucky you! Where do you work?
My SIL was over from the States this week and was telling me her company pay for 2 rounds of IVF if you need it!0
