Congratulations BCS
Welcome to the thread ellionic. This is my third and I'm far more nervous this time too!
Glad you had a good baby shower bellola, hope all those signs don't mean baby is going to appear too soon for you.
The bearing down feeling - I've never had it with either of my kids at all, sounds really uncomfy. I guess there has to be some advantage to never engaging until the very end.
I wouldn't worry too much about planning for certain theories Aida. I can remember reading all the books and being sure what I would do, but as soon as baby arrived it went out the window and I did what worked for us. For me the main thing that worked with both kids was keeping a routine at night. Bathing at the same time every day, then reading a book, then lying down in the dark. Apart from that I just went with the flow.
Hope Kitten is having her mummy cuddles by now and things get moving quicker for rjh.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
Congratulations BCS!
Hopefully now rj has gone back into hospital (sent home cos not dilated enough) things will start moving a bit more for her and there will be mummy cuddles this afternoon! Thinking of you rj. xx
No news here. 36 + 2 today, and Moon tried to video Bean moving in my tummy last night and this morning, but typically Bean wouldn't cooperate or the movements were too subtle for the camera to pick up. Weather's meant to be good today so going to make the most of it and do some more washing. Will do the baby sheets today and my towel for my hospital bag as tomorrow is meant to be back to rain again.
Still drinking my raspberry leaf tea - not sure that it's doing anything though - am on 2 cups a day this week and will up it to 3 next week.
Hugs to all who need or want them, labour vibes where appropriate.

Morning Ladies!
Hope everybody had a good bank holiday weekend and is feeling well???...I had a short 'baby moon' to stay with rellies in the South West which was nice...ate far too much clotted cream... probably a no-no in pregnancy but the baby really wanted it....
Can't believe i'm now in the 40's!!! 28+ 3 for me so under 12 weeks until d-day!!! Have my GTT thursday so will be fasting from 6pm on Wednesday so will have to see if the boss man will let me leave early so I can at least eat some food before then or it will be fasting from lunchtimeSo annoying...they test everybody who is having care at my hospital now apprently... new policy for anybody who fell pg since Jan this year so its a bit of a pain but the good thing is I am meeting the midwife at my GP's so no need to go all the way to the hospital at least.
How do I find private antenatal classes? The NCT don't seem to do any near me before my due date? I don't think they are worth the £150+ figure I have heard people talk about but OH can't make the NHS freebie one so he feels like he is unprepared and as he is the strong one in the realtionship, he wants to be fully informed to be there for me... not many of my family have ever had a natural birth...we have all been awkward babies who require emergency c-section delivery so if he has to deal with baby and spaced out, poorly me he wants to be prepared!!!
Congrats to the newborns over the weekend & welcome to any newbies xxx:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -
Congratulations Breast Cancer Survivor!
Welcome to ellionic.
I was 38 weeks on Saturday and I too am very scared about the impending birth (it’s my first). It’s fear of the unknown I think. DH keeps telling me not to worry but he’s not the one that has to push baby out is he! To be honest, my main fear at the moment is going into labour early as my brother gets married on Thursday and I don’t want to miss the wedding! Plus I really want a September baby so basically he needs to hold on until Saturday at least. Although knowing my luck I'll end up going two weeks overdue which I don't want either as I'm too uncomfy to last that much longer.
Just seen that I am no.9 on the list - that is also very scary!0 -
Oh, and another question: should I buy some infant formula before I give birth just in case I can't brestfeed my baby? Don't want to leave my OH to do it if I can buy it before birth.
I won't be buying any formula as I think breastfeeding can be difficult to establish and would like to keep trying that rather than opting for the 'easy' option if you have it easily available. I have however bought a breast pump in case baby won't latch on and will hopefully use that if necessary combined with breastmilk cups rather than bottles (as they can also interfere with breastfeeding apparently). If you are worried about OH's purchasing capabilities, perhaps research which brand you want, where sells it at a good price, and make sure he knows and send him out to go find it.0 -

As for the raspberry leaf tea I think you won't 'notice' anything from drinking it but it just makes your cervix more prepared for birth so just keep drinking, can't do any harm!0 -
at 37+1 with my third baby, im bloody terrified! Midwife just called to deliver all my homebirth drugs to keep in the fridge... its all a bit real...0

Aida, so lovely to hear from you honey. yes we are 23 weeks today!I am still waiting for those kicks. its lovely that you are feeling them. when will mine come? is this your first bubba?
i guess like everyone says, everyone is different and bubbas too. so i guess will have to wait. made my appointment (25 weeks) with the GP so thats the week after next. wonder what will be discussed there? hmmm. regarding bottles etc, i am so clueless too. was thinking of a starter kit with bottles included but lets see. still have time for that. was thinking more about getting hospital bag sorted. so much to do right?
sorry to hear about the ladies feeling scared. hugs. i hope you feel less scared. think about the time you will hold bubba and maybe that picture may calm the nerves? i havent thought about it yet as i know me, being the anxious one, i will start panicking so am trying to think of what to prepare etc etc..Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
