Does anyone else have a manky taste in their mouth? Woke up with it this morning and nothing will get rid. Yuck, it's like being back in 1st tri again!

Yep. I've had a horrible dry mouth every night for weeks now. I have to take a drink of squash to bed with me which I sip every time I wake up to turn over (at least once an hour!) but I still can't get rid of the taste and the squash makes me need a wee!

My baby books arrived from Amazon yesterday, so spent the afternoon and evening having a flick through them. We got 2 Your Baby Week by Week, and First Time Parent. ...

Also got the baby led weaning book

I enjoyed Your Baby Week by Week. I have the First Time Parent one waiting in my to read pile from the library (just spotted it!)

I read the baby led weaning one if it's the one I'm thinking of, but also found (busy at the moment with it) another weaning book which was interesting - it covers both baby led (which we want to try) and normal weaning and in particular covers things such as what nutrients the baby will need and so on. It's by Rita Conway and is called "Weaning made easy: baby-led and purees your way". I might buy it later on as the meal plans and such will be useful although they're a bit boring now tbh!

I liked the Annabel Karmel meal planner for my dd at the start. Then when I started working I used to spend one night a
Month and batch cook - pot of rice, pot of potatoes, pot of pasta, mince, chicken, pork, spinach, courgettes, carrots etc mix and match randomly- whizzy whizz in blender and put into freezer bags. Made it much easier!!
love you lots like jelly tots :o

Ooh thanks for the updates on the baby events ladies, especially the one for the Asda one ikkle as I've been waiting impatiently for that one for ages now! How are you feeling today honey?

The Annabel Karmel one with all the meal plans in is really good as well in terms of going through the stages of weaning and recipes and stuff - even if you just use the "older" ones as ideas for decent family meals. MIL bought it for me recently.

With the development books - I found they bore no resemblance to actual experience with us whatsoever - especially week by week stuff since that ends up just depressing me when she isn't doing whatever milestone I've fixated on at that point (I have to knock 7 weeks to a couple of months off her age in terms of my expectations) - I've tended to find the least neurotic parenting forums and dip in and out of them (ie avoiding the ones where women are flipping out because a little old lady touched their baby's hand... hell mine usually has a crowd of little old ladies around her because she sits grinning at them all and I don't flip out but I think it's really rather sweet).

Tesco do baby-sized food tuppaware pots in their value range I found out the other day... but I bought a load of weaning related stuff (we're getting toward that point soonish) in Boots on 3 for 2 for baby stuff in general the other day.
