I was told it was a confidence things and you do it when you feel you can. If you try and do it straight away with everything else that is new you are more likely to give up. Although this isn't definite it just means that you don't put added pressure on yourself.

Thanks for that. That makes sense. Even if DH had agreed to reusables, I'd still start off with disposables because I'm not sure how I'll cope to start with anyway. Will be thinking of you today!

Good luck KatyLiz and anyone else with appointments today!

If I could go back in time...i'd go back to the day god created man and say 'oi mister...hows about changing women a little bit so that when they are pregnant their tummy goes seethrough so they can see that baby is ok' because i'm getting totally paranoid at the moment about wether baby will make it :(

I have no real reason to doubt it, but i just love him so much already that im scared :(

Anyone else vote for seethrough tummies?

I think given the fact there are so many of us going through problems with our bubba's at the moment of varying degree's that requires extra monitoring it's only normal that other people will worry more too.

Pregnancy is a time when you worry anyway, you want to protect the baby, when they are here if they fall and graze their knee you know and can treat it or get poorly you can give them medicine take them to the doctor etc, when they are inside you if they are poorly then there is no way to know and you have to trust your instincts.

Please try not to worry hun, it's normal to have anxieties when pregnant just keep an eye on movements etc.

I always used to tell my mam when I was young that I could see what she was up to when i was inside her through the window in her belly (her belly button) I think if that were true and you could look through and see what bubs is up to as lovely as it is you would still worry cos you would be like why are they doing that, is that normal and so on and so on lol x

ikkle - 25 weeks now but haven't had the appointment yet so that is possibly why I haven't paid attention to the chart yet. Do they literally just measure your stomach? Thanks for explaining it :)

I think a little peek every so often would definitely help, particularly early on when you can't feel anything and symptoms start disappearing. I remember saying "I'll relax after 12 weeks", that came and went, then I declared "I'll stop worrying when the baby gets here".......err no that's when the worrying really begins lol!

Yep you lay on the bed and they prod your belly to find the top of your uterus and measure from there to your pubic bone. It's not very accurate though lol and can vary depending on babies position, who measures you, if your tubby or not etc.

  • moneypenny - they measure the size of your uterus. It's from above your belly button (I don't know how they find it) to your pelvis.

Freezing cold drink and laid on your side lady and if that doesn't work you get them rung. There's no such thing as over reacting when your pregnant and bubba is being a lazy moo. Better to be reassured and safe than sorry hun x

He just let me know he was ok. Just don't know this late how many movements is normally. I know the whole ten kicks rule but he has just been so mad throughout the pregnancy that his quietness now is off putting.

    Lol. Yeah he appears
To only have one spot that he can move cos
I get consistently poked in that one spot with what appears to be a knee or foot. He sticks his bum in the air trying to stretch then realized he can't and tries to escape under my ribs. Also impossible lol.

Suddenly feeling tired so lying down ATM.
