I really don't want the GTT is there an alternative ? Can I have a simple blood test without the drink? I know if be silly to refuse it but I struggle enough with stomach problems starving and drinking a glucose drink will do me no good I'm certain.

I was suffering with really really bad sickness at this point but the drink isn't that bad and I wouldn't worry about it... Just drink it slowly and keep in mind if you throw it up you have to do the test again.

If you also throw up and dont tell them your test shows up postive...Not to worry you or anything.

Trust, it isn't that bad though.

Wow it's been all go here. I also went to a wedding yesterday - but this one was brilliant and everyone made an effort. Although I did miss the ceremony...oophs. We were just nipping to the shops, then home - right outside my house I just fell over. Apparently, went down with a bit of a bang - hurt my knee, both hands, hip and shoulder. DH freaked out and wouldn't let me go until we called Mat unit. They basically said, have a sit and a brew and see how I feel and if baby is moving.

Anyway, after about 30 minutes baby had his usual afternoon tantrum kicking me left right and centre....so we decided we were ok to go (I didn't bang bump at all luckily). But we got there just as everyone was emptying out of the church. Doh! We did end up not getting home until 2am though!!!!! :eek:

I'm VERY achy today but baby is being a complete wriggly worm, so I'm not worried about him at all. It's just me suffering. DH now wants me wrapped up in cotton wool though and not moving. Apparently, it's just rude of women 37 weeks pregnant to throw themselves on the floor! Doh!

Ah Twinklie glad youve not done too much damage must have been a shock to you and OH! No wonder he wants to wrap you up and protect you.
Moneypenny do you know why you're having the test? I think someone here said in their area it's just a routine test they do. I've not had one I think my Bmi was between 25-26 at the start and low risk of diabetes I guess.

KatyLiz yeah I was daft lol. I've been resting this evening. OH and his dad gave me a good telling off lol. On the plus they did another couple of jobs that I've been waiting ages for

Hi everyone just a quick update to let you know baby girl arrived on 17th August weighing in at 7lb 2oz. Not sure if anyone from the fb group already updated this on here so just in case thought I would do a quick one. Bit of a traumatic birth for me and still in hospital where the Internet reception is a bit hit and miss. Will post my birth story at a later date when I'm out and off all the meds (hopefully will be a bit more with the real world).
