And they don't make the mattress
    For
    It anymore :)

I got my cot mattress for DD from TK Maxx. It was a Kit for Kids one. It is sprung and has a removeable, washable cover. It was £40 there, but I think about £80 elsewhere. They had cot and cot bed size. If there is a TK Maxx beside you it is worth a browse in the baby section every now and again. I got a beautiful little outfit yesterday, as my 2 BFs are due in less than 3 weeks (4 days apart LOL). It was a little pink and white top and trousers in very soft cotton with a matching hat and booties. Sooo cute and it was £5.99.
  • Thanks everyone it is a cotbed from m&p's but an older range. Will have a look at that site thanks RJH. As the baby will be in it longer I might consider buying a slightly better mattress. Ooh it's a minefield! I gave up on prams and thought mattresses would be easier :/

I’m using the M&P rocking crib and they only do one mattress for that so for my actual cotbed I have got the same mattress in that size… easy decision lol!!!

  • Aida - not sure if anyone answered your question, but no, you wouldn't be able to keep baby in that car seat for more than 2 hrs. They need to lie flat, so like dizsiebubba said, you'd need a carrycot or something similar.
MMM - I don't think you sounded bigheaded at all, just someone who works hard and like doing things properly ;) good luck with the tea.

For those are are ahead of me
(I'm 31 today:)), I need to request 'mat leave' from uni and I'm unsure when to start that from. I don't actually need to attend uni per se, I'm just doing work at home and I know my deadline will just be pushed backwards but I have no idea how much longer I'll be able to do this for so any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Morning ladies, haven't posted much the past few days, work work work :(

Been looking at nursery furniture, so expensive! But I'm sure I can find discount codes :p

At what stage did you all have to buy maternity clothes? I'm busting out of my work trousers!

It was around 32 weeks that I started to get the tiredness again bikeless (although this is also the time that they found my iron levels were a bit low too so it could be that). I've told work that I'm going to continue up until Bean is born as long as I'm physically able to, as supply work doesn't normally come in until October time anyway, so I doubt I'll get any work anyway. If you can work from home and nap when you need to, then I don't see any reason why you can't continue in the same way, letting them know that you may need to change the date as the pregnancy progresses if anything changes in your health.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

tattoo quite a few of us on here have bought chests of drawers etc from Ikea rather than buying set nursery furniture (Ikea sell this also though). The Malm chest of drawers (3-drawer in white) is what we have and it's great - nice and sturdy, the perfect height for a change table, and only £35! We got the Henley cotbed in white package from Toys R Us when they had 20% off (they have this offer on today until Sunday), so saved quite a bit on that too.

I think I bought my maternity trousers from New Look at around 14 weeks.

Tattoo I needed maternity jeans at 6 weeks as I was quite bloated down low and I wear my jeans quite low. My problem was I had lost a bit of weight due to morning sickness so I bought a 14 when I normally a sixteen and now they don't fit lol. I found peacocks black maternity trousers the best :)

it's amazing, as soon as you add the word baby or wedding to something the price goes through the roof! I'm thinking of having a Amby hammock so will just need the chest of draws/changing table and wardrobe. Will probaby just go to ikea as suggested.

I looked in the local peacocks and they have black maternity thousers so will just get them, at least I can try them on in the shop, we have a Dorothy Perkins and a New Look but they don't stock maternity clothes, I would have to try them on and I don't think I will have enough time to send them back :o

I also need some maternity jeans and some new bras, my tops at the moment will do a little while longer
