Thanks for all the welcomes everyone (I know it was a few days ago now :o)

I had another scan this week as they couldn't do the nuchal fold test last week and they've given me a new EDD of 23rd February now.

Has anyone lost weight during pregnancy? I am very overweight (always planned on losing weight before TTC in a couple of years time, but this one came as a surprise). I've been very ill over the last few weeks with ms, but am hopefully coming through that now, and so want to concentrate on eating healthily.

I'm not intending to 'go on a diet', but figure that if I go from a pretty poor diet to a healthy one, I might lose weight anyway. Has that happened to anyone else? I've spoken to MW and doctor and both have just said not to put any weight on. I'm under consultant care as well, and they didn't really say anything either.

My dress search continues though, any suggestions on good makes? I don’t mind spending up to about £80 as it’s DH’s Dad’s wedding which I would have bought a new dress for anyway. I can always sell it on afterwards ;)

what about next? they have some nice dresses

I had a three door car when I had my dd. that lasted two weeks before I gave up and bought a four door.

Think the hubby might win this battle then :p

I can't get on with Next clothes normally, as I'm so apple shaped and their cuts are for pear shaped ladies. last time I tried to buy something in Next I needed a size 22 to do up round my middle when I was a size 16 in most other shops! It's put me right off them!

I haven't tried any of their maternity wear as no stores have it and had no idea what size to order online :o Will look again though, as there's only 8 weeks til the wedding, and I'l like to get something sorted. May just have to order several sizes and return lots!

It's really hard to get any guidance on this, I've asked GP, midwife and consultant and none of them were helpful. I started pregnancy with a BMI of around 31 so in the obese category. I lost weight with morning sickness, and although I've put some back on I'm still hovering around the weight I was when I got pg. I'm now 27 weeks, hoping not to gain more than a stone between now and the end. I expect I'll be significantly lighter after I give birth than I was before pregnancy.

I'm not dieting anymore (I was while TTC but stopped when I got my BFP), but I keep an eye on my calories to make sure I'm not overeating ridiculously (my baby seems very fond of bakewell tarts ;) ) I do try and make sure I get plenty of veggies and fruit, and not too much junk.

I do like Isabella Oliver's stuff, it's good quality. I bought some tops in their recent sale and some second had off ebay. I've not had to do dresses yet though. They are expensive relatively but the tops I got will do me throughout I think as they grow with you. You might need a more simple dress which you can glam up like the infamous (and now sold out) new look maxi dress?

For general maternity stuff, some of my pre-pregnancy stuff still fits (no bottoms though!). I bought some Red Herring stuff from Debenhams on sale (online) as my first port of call when things started to get too big and have a pair of over the bump jeans from them as well as a top, but at first I used a bump band from JojoMamanBebe which is great and I still use it now sometimes. It has holes in for buttons so you essentially use it to prevent your trousers falling down :) Strangely I looked recently and couldn't see it on their site anymore.

The Red Herring maternity jeans still fit and will probably see me through (25 weeks). I also bought some things from Mothercare online on cheap sale but the top had to go back as it was already tight and was non-stretch cotton (what's with that??) and the under-bump-jeggings I kept but think I'll be too big for them soon as they are really tight.

I've also bought some stuff second hand on ebay, which I think has more variety than most actual shops or online shops! I've got a lovely ruffled skirt from Next which is soooo comfy and is great when it's warmer. I also have the problem that I'll be my biggest when it's coldest though so am hoping to layer with vest/simple tops and then open cardigans over (not necessarily maternity ones, but I'll probably need at least one warm jacket/cardigan in maternity).

I was very unamused with the selection in store, I might add...

    Morning all,

Was at a loss when the forum went down last night, ended up going to bed which is very unlike me.

Been having strong BH still and got a letter from the hospital today. At my last appointment they sent my sample off to be tested as there were some leu (?!) in it. The letter today states that I need to do another sample as soon as possible. hmmm not too worried but think that it might have something to do with the BHs getting more frequent.
