All the best Vic. An external auditor was in with me at work last time I was pregnant and was telling me that she was born at 28 weeks. She was early 20s, smart and pretty. Looked in perfect health. It's good you have such a supportive family.

My dress search continues though, any suggestions on good makes? I don’t mind spending up to about £80 as it’s DH’s Dad’s wedding which I would have bought a new dress for anyway. I can always sell it on afterwards ;)

Not a maternity dress but it is very stretchy - we've had three weddings to go to this summer and this is my go to dress:

It's very flattering and it has extra material for over bump!

Has anyone lost weight during pregnancy? I am very overweight (always planned on losing weight before TTC in a couple of years time, but this one came as a surprise). I've been very ill over the last few weeks with ms, but am hopefully coming through that now, and so want to concentrate on eating healthily.

I'm not intending to 'go on a diet', but figure that if I go from a pretty poor diet to a healthy one, I might lose weight anyway. Has that happened to anyone else? I've spoken to MW and doctor and both have just said not to put any weight on. I'm under consultant care as well, and they didn't really say anything either.

I've only gained 0.5kg since finding out I was pregnant, so I'm thinking that I probably have lost weight as the baby weighs more than that on its own now! Like you, my diet wasn't great and I'm now eating a lot better, plus I'm not drinking (empty bad calories!) so I think that has helped.

If anyone is interested I just got a code for 40% off your first item and 15% of further items in Vertbaudet. It's usually only for full priced items. The code is: 5055

was it morocha who asked about bras? At first I just used my sports bras, I have two in a slightly bigger size than my normal (I'm usually only a B cup though so these were two Bs and two Cs). Now I'm still wearing the C cup ones but can't wear the Bs - and for one of the C cups I'm needing to have a bra extender on the back as well. I think they'll start getting uncomfortable soon though due to the fabric used, my bump and boobs are starting to meet and it gets a bit warm there and I'd prefer cotton.

I'm not normally an underwire person either, the wire just doesn't fit my shape.

I bought (fairly early on in the first trimester as my boobs were getting huge, they deflated again at the start of the second though but are now growing again) three nursing bras, two in a size bigger than normal, & one is a 'one size fits all' but I wouldn't try it if you need support although it's really comfy and was cheap. The nursing bras have more adjustment in them than normal - more hooks on the back, and the one bra is apparently adjustable cup size too. I bought them off Bras4Mums.

I do like Isabella Oliver's stuff, it's good quality. I bought some tops in their recent sale and some second had off ebay. I've not had to do dresses yet though. They are expensive relatively but the tops I got will do me throughout I think as they grow with you. You might need a more simple dress which you can glam up like the infamous (and now sold out) new look maxi dress?

It's going to be quite a formal/glam affair, so I was hoping to get something really smart. Will check out Isabelle Oliver, cheers, not heard of her before.

WOW, that is stunning! and in the sale in my size..... :D Do you think yours will still fit when you're nearly full term?
Little Moog - does that mean you've not put any additional weight on during pregnancy up to now? That is really good if so. I too have a higher BMI and can't stop eating :( decided today that if I'm going to eat it has to be low calorie/ low fat stuff (not counting calories though) so that even if I'm eating loads it has to be better than crisps, biscuits and buttered toast :o I feel so sick when I'm empty it is really hard not to eat. I was hoping for around a 2 stone gain in total but it may be way past that if I continue as I have done for the last few weeks. :( I don't mind as long as the baby is healthy but my baby likes cakes not lettuce too ;)

Yes, I'm still in a ±2lb range of my pre-pregnancy weight, fluctuates a lot. Started at 14st11lb, not seen a 15 on the scale yet. I think I might cry when I do though! I can actually eat quite a lot of calories, as my daily allowance to maintain my weight (calculated on myfitnesspal.com) is about 2300, and pre-pregnancy I was only eating 1400-1800 a day. Now i'm in the 3rd trimester I think you're supposed to add another 2-300 calories as well. I feel like I'm eating constantly, but when I add it up it's not that bad. I think it's because my main meals are the same as when I was dieting (as DH still needs to lose a lot of weight) but I've added extra fruit and cake snacks. Cream crackers or ryvita with philly are great for snacks, and don't add up to many calories :) I also love babybels, and the individual mr kipling cake bars. I always have some fruit with my snacks so I can kid myself it's not all bad ;)

To be honest, I don't see why not. I'll be wearing it next weekend at 27 weeks and there's still 'space' in it - the space plus the stretchy material should do the job as I get bigger. All that will happen is that it will lift slightly at the front, which isn't the end of the world.
