Littlemoog, I was discussing blackout blinds with DH and we've decided not to have them for now. Will see how babies are without them. Simple reason being, his mum blacked out the room for him when he was a baby and now he cant sleep with even the tiniest sliver of light in the room! I on the other hand, didnt have a blacked out room and can sleep through anything. His mum was the same with noises, everything was said in a whisper and no tv/radio/hoover allowed. Again, my mum was the opposite, hoovered around me and I usually didnt hear a thing! I may change my mind in a few months though :rotfl:
We probably won't use it for daytime naps, just draw the curtains, but my sisters have all advised them for summer to help them know when it's "night" and they should be sleeping. Especially important in our nursery which gets the sun in the evening!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
cake4brains - the best car seat for you will depend on how/when you would use it. We got a carry handle one that clips in to the buggy because we pop in and out of the car for a few minutes here and there and it would be a total nightmare picking up/waking up baby each time. By having the travel system we won't need to. When my kids were younger I used to walk everywhere and only take the car if we were on long journeys, so then the big 0-4 seat was a lot better.

WE actually have a car seat with the handle that came with our pushchair. The reason I want the other one as well is my granddad often brings me home when I go to their house and I normally go to town first so I would like to be able to take baby into town in the carrycot so he can be laid flat etc but not have to worry that my granddad won't be able to fetch me home as I don't have a car seat with me but I still need a car seat for things like when we go to the doctors or get taxi's etc and if we ever get another car.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

We have the Maxi-Cosi cabrio fix car seat that DD2 used for a couple of months, and a Maxi Cosi chassis we've bought second hand from a relative. I'll be doing a 15min school run twice a day, and the car park is a 5min walk from the school, so I just want to unclip the car seat from it's Isofix base and click it onto the pushchair chassis to walk my DDs into/out of school, ideally without waking the baby0

Evening all!
We've got a Graco car seat that came with the pushchair. Gotta be honest didn't really think about it. Pushchair also has a carrycot bit so bubs can lay flat instead of just being in the cars seat when we're out. We Just liked The pram lol. Kitten those look lovely seats though, will make a note of them.
Morocha no idea Hun, I'm not wearing sporty type bra. Think some people have got Mothercare ones. I got a good deal online mama's and papa's a while back three for £15 non wired non moulded cups, super comfy though.
I think OH has officially passed his man flu to mefeel sniffly and headachey. I've managed to fight it for best part of two weeks tho. Also my wrist is super sore after my injection. I know people have bigger troubles, but just feel poopy tonight. Hopefully I'll have a good nights sleep and feel better tomorrow, am already in bed
Hope everyone can get a good nights rest. There'll be no forum for me to come be nosy on. Hugs to anyone that needs them. Sending big labour vibes to RJH and DJ and other boldies/those needing them.
Well I think it's time for bed, bubba has starting doing his favourite Mexican wave dance routine lol....men! :rotfl::j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Plus you know exactly what it has been through.
Mattresses we'll be replacing in the moses basket and carrycot - purely because they've got a stonking great dip in them now!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
morocha - I don't know about the bras either. sorry! I just wear the non-wired mat bras.
cake - I was thinking of getting a 0-4 car seat. We were going to get this one http://www.samueljohnston.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=178. I wasn't put off by the fact that it doesn't attach to the pram, just though I'd be saving money in the long term. In the end chose one that lies flat as we may need to do long journeys and lying flat means baby can stay there for longer than 2hrs, but only because we got a good deal on it.
Hm, just out of interest, has anyone managed to get the Babymoov bag for a £1??:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
Aida matb1 form is for your employer and any other people who need proof of your pregnancy, its best to make a few copys. I gave one to my employer, one to OH employer and sent one off to claim cashback on re usable nappies.
Hugs and labour vibes to all who need/want them, have a good day today x
Thanks for the advice Ferrety. I will keep some copies of my MATB1 form.
Ikkle thank you for Vic's updates. I hope her little man can stay where he is now, at least till 30 weeks.
Car seats: I really like the maxi cosi car seats that can be attached to iCandy/Quinny frames (somthing like THIS ONE ). Can I used them for more than 2h or newborns need to lies flat while you're out and about? I wouldn't want to buy too many things...:smileyheaBaby Aida is here :j:j:jBaby fund - £3140/£60000 -
Morning all!
Just to let everyone know, I've just received an email from Toys R Us with a code for 20% off from today until Sunday (20AUGE). Don't know if the voucher is on their website to download as normal or not, but thought this may help some of you (especially those making bigger purchases of car seats and cot beds etc).
Didn't go out to dinner in the end last night as my Mum had bad IBS and my Dad didn't feel comfortable leaving her at home, so he cancelled the meal and cooked us spag bol instead. His portion sizes are enormous though and I ate far too much and ended up with really bad tummy ache myself. Moon and I are going out to dinner on Wednesday though so I'm looking forward to that.
Well I'm off to catch up on the facebook group as there was a whole load of notifications in my email this morning.
Hugs to all who need or want them,

This is what we have hun as a few friends have it too so know it is sturdy, easy to use etc. You can get a carrycot for it so if you know you are going to be out in the buggy for a while you clip the carrycaot into the quinny frame instead of the carseat so baby can lie flat x:jBaby Boy born December 20120
