Cake4brains, definitely ask about private room, my hospital has a couple and ladies with twins are prioritised. I was lucky - I got my own room as there were no expected twin births, and as I had a section and was there for 3 nights I was very, very pleased with that :) But if someone with twins had arrived at the maternity ward, then I would have been moved.

  • We ended up having a busy day running errands yesterday after all. I got another few bits for baby as well.
Thank you for your help re:bath KatyLiz, Sam, Gilly, rjh, mishka (sorry for bring the topic again, I couldn't remember it being discussed the night before! Must be baby brain), dizziblonde, ikkle, griggsy, snowy, LittleMoog, LMM, Nutella, MMM, twinklie, fluffnutter and Cake4brains. I'm not keen on using the big bath but didn't want to spend a fortune either. I'll just get the bath from ikea and I'll look into the foam bath support from home bargains and if they haven't got any, will get it from mothercare.
Congrats and welcome to the thread brunettegirl!
    Good luck Fishcake!
Thank you for the heads up on the sleep! I shall try my best but can't guarantee it. At 30+2 I'm already struggling with baby not knowing that nights are for sleeping and not kicking mummy!
Twinkle -I hope you're feeling better. I wouldn't worry much about not having bought anything. I bought a moses basket and bedding at week 25 or whereabouts, then a pram at 28 and that's it. Hence the sudden rush of question asking for opinions here! You still have time!
I'm not a happy bunny today. Woke up in the middle of the night feeling very sick when I haven't been nauseous or sick at all during pregnancy. Baby then kept kicking me for what felt like ages and ended up not sleeping that well. Good job I don't have much going on today so will just have a nap after lunch.
    Have a good day everyone!

  • my local maternity services wind me right up sometimes. 35 weeks today and not feeling right. sickly, worn out, weeing loads, and feeling a lot of downward pressure and backache. had my appt last week with midwife who found leukocytes in urine so im suspecting a UTI. in my first pregnancy i was induced at 38wks due to a severe kidney infection... so hubby suggested i phone the ward and see if they can access my urine test results yet, see if its just standard late pregnancy symptoms, or indeed a UTI. apparently they are 'very busy' and 'will probably phone me back'. cheers guys... grrrrrrr.

    Hi all,

Woke up this morning with cramps and back pain so had a bath and a wander round the car boot. Seemed to have eased off now which is good. Got some more books for baby's library, have loads now. And we have a list of four books we really wanted, Peace at Last, Five Minutes Peace, The Gruffalo and Guess How Much I Love You. Found both Peace at Last and Five Minutes Peace for 20p each so very chuffed.

Came home and had brunch again then was knackered, walking exhausts me! Have just had a nap so refreshed for the rest of the day.

MummyofTwo hope they get back to you and let you know everythings ok. We had our tour of the hospital last Tuesday and the Delivery Suite was totally empty and the midwives just sitting around chatting. So I'm expecting 5 star care when I'm there if they're that quiet!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Mummy of Two, sorry you are not having a good time with the labour ward. Hopefully they will call back and all will be sorted.

Brunette Girl, It will seem like it goes really slowly then one day you will look back and thing wow where did the last 7 months go :D

AFM: The BH seem to have calmed down which is good. Still getting a few but not regularly like yesterday. I am sure it is one of many scare days to come :D
