I had the labour ward tour today. Feel much better knowing how to get there and what to expect now in terms of rooms etc. That said, I'm very much still in denial I think. I just can't get into my head that it's all about me.
I'm also very jealous of those whose DH's get to stay at the hospital with them. My DH only gets to visit 1.30 - 7.30pm. Boo.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Congrats to you Gemma! Great name as well - Megan is No. 1 choice on our list if we have a girl! x0

Congratulations Gemma! Sounds a bit scary though
moneypuddle - I was told I was Group B Strep positive with DD2. She was born less than an hour after I got to the hospital though so there was no chance of me getting IV antibiotics in time. They made me stay in for 24hrs after the birth for observation instead but it didnt cause any great drama or seem much of an issue.
I have pre-eclampsia and amniotic fluid is v low (under 5th centile) so am due to be induced at 38weeks unless anything goes downhill before thenreally don't want an induction! Got twice weekly blood tests and weekly growth scans until then.

Congratulations Gemma hope you are both doing well and getting some rest x
twinkle thats very short visiting hrs for dh, if i go on the birth unit as planned they expect OH to be there for the whole time, one of the rooms even has a double bed. I cant imagine OH having to go home without me especially once baby has arrived i want our first few hrs to be very special with the 3 of us together as much as we want.
Nbirdy hope things stay settled for you, hopefully baby will want to come early so you avoid induction ((Hugs))
rjh I thought you wanted to be a boldy after all you have wanted baby to come all last week : )Rachel

Visiting times for partners are 8am to 8pm where I am now. But when I had my son they were 10-11am and 5-8pm, which was shockingly short! It's another one of those things that are totally different everywhere.
NBirdy - hope baby comes without the induction, but if not the main thing is that you both get through the birth safely and healthily.
MummyofTwo - if you're still really worried maybe its best to try ringing again?Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
Lol yes do want to be a boldy but never thought I would be cos expected the wee
Man to be here by now. The Braxton hicks have pretty
Much died off now lol. I have a feeling he gonna have to be smoked out now.
Bit annoyed I have no sweeps scheduled and not being seen at hospital until 41 weeks. Which gives a very limited time for things to get started if they sweep me then. Ah well just way things to go now. I wanna meet himlove you lots like jelly tots0 -

Evening all!
Congratulations to Gemma - love the name - hope you're not too sore from the surgery and that the experience wasn't too frightening or traumatic for you.
Had a lovely time at the Christening today, but feet are very swollen now and I'm shattered as we went straight from there to a local animal rescue centre fair (I never tend to buy anything other than food at these things and the entry fee to support them, and we were too late to look at the books as everything was being packed up by the time we got there), and then we went and did the food shop due to Mr T having extended summer opening hours.Managed to get some bargain organic jacket potatoes for dinner for 15p, but will need to go to Sainsbugs tomorrow as their normal spuds were awful and they'd run out of a few things we needed.
Off to Gunwharf Quays to Lindt's new store opening bright and early tomorrow, and will have a look in the other outlet shops whilst I'm there as it's much easier to do that sort of shopping when Moon's not wanting to drag me into HMV etc.
It's so muggy here at the moment - hope we have a good rain storm overnight to clear the air. Still at least there is a bit of a breeze too. I must try and track down a fan to put in the bedroom as despite the one window being open (Moon's side of the bed), I'm still waking up roasting in the night, and I worry about how hot the baby's room will get when he arrives too.
Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

Hospital visiting times for partners at our hospital are 8am while 10pm. Unless your in labour then they can stay.
NBirdy hope your bp etc stay steady and you don't have anymore problems. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

When we had our youngest he was born at just after 8pm, we were taken from the delivery room across to the ward by a very grumpy midwife who stopped abruptly in the hall and grunted "say goodbye" to my husband and mum. We werent expecting that at all and she said as the ward would be settled down for the night he couldnt see us to our bed (we werent planning on them being there for hours just a chance for me to unpack and get in the bed)
Felt a bit abandoned and a little lostno doubt it will be the same again as we are back to the same hospital.
Had an exhausting day at the beach today, we have been promising the kids for ages and every day we went to go it rained. The hour car journey on bumpy back roads was a killer and felt like bubs was going to be shaken out - then we had to trek about from car park to park to amusements to train to the beach  so expecting to pay for that for the next few days !
Congratulations to Gemma :T
heading up the list scarily fast and yet its dragging all at once :cool:Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0
