morocha, I didn't put much weight on* until recently (now 23 weeks). I'm a size 8 normally although my thighs/bum have gotten bigger lately (struggling to get pre-pregnancy clothes on over my thighs, never mind the bump). The UK official guide is that it's not too important as size matters more than weight. The baby is apparently very good at sucking nutrients from you
If you're worried about nutrients etc for baby (rather than just weight) maybe look at a multivitamin supplement suitable for pregnant women?
*actually I still don't know if I've put weight on as I don't own a scale and the midwives have only weighed me twice (book-in and once more - 16 weeks?)0 -
hi savage, yes i am taking a pregnancy multivitamin, as i find it difficult to eat, although i crave fruit and salads when i do eat.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0

Wow - jealous of you ladies who haven't put any weight on.
I4 weeks and I've hidden my scales. I'm scare of what they'd read now let alone at 40 weeks!
Off for an afternoon on my mower!0 -

ikkle - i think men think that once contractions start baby will be here in under an hour lol i am going to try and stay at home as long as possible - we only have a 10 min ride to hospital so not far. i think most hospitals send you home unless you are 3 -4cm dilated (in active labour).
i called DH yesterday on his mobile because i wanted a chat and he thought that it was "the call" that i had gone into labour so did his work colleagues hehe
40+4 today and no inkling at all that i will be going into labour anytime soon. its my sisters birthday today and she wants me to go into labour. i am bouncing on ball, going for walks, drinking my raspberry leaf tea to tone the uterus and getting hanky panky, cant really do much more.
DH now has the idea that he wants another middle name for the child - something to do with an athlete from the olympics:o its a nice idea but i dont want babys name getting too long
nice to see so many boldies, hope they turn into babies soon.

ahh i so hope you ladies have your labours soon and have your little ones.. it sounds quite frustrating.
just tired some mango with lime squeezed onto it and it tasted so so nice.
i thihnk with regards to weight, if the midwife or doc say anything, then its prob best to do something about it then. when my mum told me not to get fat and eat well, i told her that once the GP or mw tells me i am on in the safe zone, i will do something about it then. right now am ravenous so am eating whenevr i can, and am glad i can eat stuff as some poor ladies are off their food.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

OMG there's a girl I went to uni with and she is 2 weeks ahead of me. She had her baby last night. I'm shocked. 3 weeks early and she hadn't even started maternity leave! I would like mine to be prompt but not that early and unexpected!0

When did it start getting called PGP? I'm assuming it's because my MW is around retirement age that I get it called SPD. I feel for you ikkle, I find it bad enough, but the thought of having it as badly as you do, and on top of an existing condition, is awful. I think you do so well not to cry and moan more - you manage to be one of the most positive posters.
jedi - hope baby comes soon. What Olympic name does he like? We've all been glued to the Olympics in this house!
rjh - you sound so frustrated, hope something happens soon for you.
I'm feeling rough - dizzy, hot and clammy. It's meant I've done loads of cross stitch today though as I've hardly moved from the sofaCross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -

I think it's a recent thing, my midwife calls it SPD the hospital call it PGP and the GP calls it both lol. I am wondering how exactly I'm going to give birth if i can't spread my legs though. I'm sure there are people out there who have it worse than I do, I'm just thankful I'm pregnant because I never thought I would be
Ooh, you like cross stitching? I've joined the MSE mummies craft group on facebook and have gone a bit OTT with projects now. Do you do any other crafts? xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
