Quick question ladies before I read back, got a lot of catching up to do... How long did your anomaly scan take, I've got mine this afternoon at 2:15 :)
Mine was very quick, probably only 15 mins but again had a co-operative baby. The leafletty-thing said to allow 1 hour.

bezzy think mine took about 1/2 an hour and included the bloods.
bloods? what bloods? I had a midwife appt afterwards and that took ages (waiting though, not the appointment, that was pretty quick - leaflets, blood pressure, urine dipstick). That reminds me I think I need bloods done at the next (25 wk) appointment again. I don't want to be anaemic - how many dried apricots do I need to nosh???

Rups, I've booked NCT antenatal but they don't start for another month.

    Ikkle -

BezzyK Mine took 45 minutes and was really detailed :)

Savage I didn't have any bloods taken at my 20 week scan either. Did have some taken at 28 weeks though x

oohh bezzy good luck. how exciting!!!
sarara ring that number and leave the course you want. i am sure u have been told that they get booked up. lol. stupid courses. anyone booked any through nct?

errr i just sprayed some impulese spray on me and it was old so now my necks itching. oops. lol

where u off on holiday sarara? next week we are off to italy for 2 weeks and i heard its so hot. what am i going to do? lol

I know, I know, I have to book it... I had to pin DH down on dates first though as we wanted the one at Woodlands (as it's just down the road from us) and they're only once a month, and we have DSS on odd weekends, so I had to get him to check when we would and when half term is, etc etc... I'll do it tomorrow though.

We're going to Spain for my mum's 65th birthday - she got a villa for a big group of friends and family, it should be a really nice week actually - plus, you know, a free holiday for us which is always welcome! I'll be 27 weeks by then, mainly I intend to spend my time on a lilo in the pool doing a good whale impression.

We thought about doing NCT but I'm not sure I can justify the expense unfortunately. It's a bit of a bummer but AFAIK the main thing that people get out of it is meeting people who also have babies - and a lot of my friends are at that stage in life at the moment so I know a number of new mums!

I checked with Easyjet and they're OK for you to fly up to 34 weeks so it shouldn't be a problem. If they'll give me one for free I'll get one off the doc, otherwise I'll just take my green notes with me and prove that I'm not that far gone!

It's definitely worth checking though; Ryanair need a fit to fly note after 28 weeks which is a bit ridiculous.
  • Sa-ra-ra-ra - I'd check again to be on the safe side (get it in writing if you can) as I'm pretty sure you can fly without a doc's note only up to 28 wks. After that you'll need one. I'm saying this as I just flew with them a couple of weeks ago and despite having a small bump at 27 wks, I was asked how far I was. Wouldn't want you to miss your flight. Doc's notes at my gp are about £10-15.

Savage im in stockport, having baby at stepping hill.

Re travelling I'd check with your insurance there was a big thing in the papers not so long ago about airlines will let you fly but some insurance companies won't cover you.

OH and DD are flying out to Cyprus tomorrow for a week :( it's his brother wedding. Im 30 weeks in Saturday and I couldn't think of any worse than sitting in the sun. So as well as being off work im going to be home alone for the week.

But it is worth taking note of because it varies SO much between airlines. And that's a good point on the travel insurance; although as we're travelling within the EU my EHIC should also be valid so between them we should be ok.
