Don't worry about baby's heart rate Rups, they are like us and change from time to time depending on what they are doing in there. I think they also change as baby grows. I on,y know what the heart rate was at my 16 week check as the mw said. She hasn't told me since and I haven't asked. She juts records it as fetal heartbeat heard and normal (or something along those lines). They way I look at it is if she is happy then everything is fine.

    Morning everyone.

I've been up and down all night but decided to read instead of coming online. Only problem is I've nearly finished my book now lol.

Sending all the boldies good luck labour vibes, hope you all get mummy cuddles soon :)

Emsbet your list is a good idea like that as I haven't got a clue what we have I just know we have stuff lol. Might go sit and play in bubs wardrobe for a bit - always cheers me up :)

Rups 130 isn't too low hun no. The normal range is 120-160bpm.

  • Hey Rups, you're under Croydon, aren't you? Did you get to see the birth centre at the early pregnancy fayre thing? We sort of missed out on that - we did nothing about the pregnancy until we got past the 12wk mark, was on holiday for one of the open evenings, and the last one I was just too tired to go to so didn't bother! I think I'm too far gone now or something.

I had my consultant appointment yesterday only the consultant wasn't there so I saw the registrar instead. Everything's fine but she was talking about my BMI and said that I'd be monitored because my BMI was high - I looked and the MW had recorded it as 39. I am overweight, but I was fairly sure that was wrong because when I was being seen at the other hospital they'd calculated it at about 32 or 33. I said that to her, and she said, well, to be fair I did wonder - so she reweighed me, recalculated it and my BMI is 34 - so I'm not in the 'moderate risk' category, but instead the 'mild risk' one. Good. I've only put on 1.1lb since 12weeks which I'm quite pleased about. Given that baby + fluid + placenta weighs more than that, it seems that my 'baby wants pizza and chocolate' diet is working!

Heartbeat and everything is fine and my tummy is measuring right too - yay :) I had a friend over last night and she felt the baby kick which was fun. I'm so tired today though, counting down to maternity leave...

I keep creating spreadsheets and lists for all sorts lol. I even do them for the supermarket shopping list now and how much each thing is and for what size so if we go somewhere else I can see if I can get it cheaper lol.

Decided to do one this morning for clothes though because I know what I am like, when we go shopping I will see something and want to buy it then get home and find I have so much stuff in that size that unless he is a midget he won't get to wear it all lol.

I've been buying stuff on ebay and thought I had enough (also expecing a bag of goodies from a friend) but seeing Emsbet's list I think maybe not!
Downside is we have nowhere to put baby's clothes yet as we need to redecorate the room first so can't even sort them out properly...

In other news I bought some jeggings and a top off the Mothercare sale (free delivery) and they arrived yesterday. The jeggings will do (a little tight under my bump but I can live with it) but the top was just odd, I'm only 23 weeks and it was an exact fit (and it was normal cotton, no stretch!)?
  • re spreadsheets, I have had loads of these for years; they track all my various accounts (current, savings, ISA, credit card etc) and I also have spreadsheets for birthdays and christmas. They detail who is getting what, where I bought it from, what the cost is and what saving I made! Cos I use Microsoft Project as part of my job, I even put a plan together to schedule out all the renovating we are doing on the house, lol! Stil got a few tasks to go!

    Morning ladies :)

Quick question - how much "new baby" as opposed to 0-3 months clothes will you have in before your babies arrive? We have some 0-3 months stuff, but no new baby things yet. My 2 eldest nieces and one of my nephews were so long when they were born they never fitted in newborn sizes and had to go straight into 0-3 months. The other niece and nephew were smaller, but both of their Dads are short, while DH is reasonably tall (as am I). I was an average sized baby, just short of 8lbs, and DH was a premmie, so not sure what his full term weight would have been to try and judge (if that's even relevant!)

My DD was 8lb 4oz and 50.5cms long, so average length. I thought that newborn would probably be too small so only had a couple of sleepsuits. 0-3 months were massive on her and I had to buy a load of newborn sleepsuits. She stayed in newborn for over a month if I remember correctly.

sarara yes we saw that section but boy was there a long wait as everyone was hogging the midwvives. it was nice though when we had time to see her. she explained how low risk women are better there and should there be a need for epidural then they shfit you to the labour ward. it really fascinates me as i love water. erm i need to find my gym and start swimming. i dont want my baby lazy hehe.. the next one is on 5th sept i think? is that late for you to attend? other than that, in the tiny antenatel clinic, there were the nct and also an independent midwife who runs her own classes, a nappy person in one corner and an osteopath woman. i took all the leaflets :) also there was a BF woman in the corner who showed us how tiny the baby's belly is on day 1. size of a marble! and day 3 to a little squash ball. so cute. DH was being a bit silly as he is a boobs man and later he said when the woman mentioed how to avoid sore nipples he wanted to giggle, and also when she kept sayin breast. men hey? lol

it all felt real yest actually and seeing other mums-to-be. there were many woman who def looked more than 20 weeks as they may have missed out other open evening events. also i managed to book an all day workshop by ringing up where they cover labour etc. is that the only one i need as i couldnt find any others?

oooh my next delivery is coming soon. eek :) got to try my tankinis and stuff! yay! :)

We are quite lucky that we moved house when I was 15 weeks so I've been able to decorate and sort out clothes and toys and things like that. Although having started on the spreadsheet whilst putting away some things my nan bought baby I've run out of room in a chest of drawers lol.
