Thanks emsbet - good to know it's not just me - I was worried it may be that the iron tablets weren't working and I was getting more symptoms due to the levels dropping. I'm not sleeping properly either. I wake up at least twice each night (either cos Moon wakes me up, I'm roasting hot and need to open the window, I've had a nightmare, or I need the loo). Trouble is, as soon as I wake up or go to the loo etc, Bean starts to party, so it makes it hard to go back to sleep again, particularly if it's starting to get light outside.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Has anyone else around the 32 week mark found themselves struggling to stay awake mid-morning? I woke up absolutely shattered this morning, and feeling like all of my muscles in my arms and legs needed a really good stretch. I ate my pro-flakes with raisins and took my iron tablet with fruit juice as yesterday, but by 10am at childminding it was all I could do to stay awake. I had to have a proper coffee to get me through the day - luckily this worked. Got midwife a week tomorrow, so will talk to her about it, as not sure if this is normal, or whether the iron tablets aren't working properly.

My Iron levels have been fine through out and still are however I keep having naps, so much so I don't realise until I wake up and realise I have fallen asleep for 3 hours ;) I think this is the exhaustion stage.

Moneypuddle so sorry about your work, definitely worth speaking to your GP, I did last time and was given a note not signing me off but stating that I had to take on less and work shorter hours. If this wasn't possible then I would need to take time off work. It gave work a bit of a shock.

My previous job I was working til 10 at night most nights which is why I left. Once I had left they employed 2 members of staff to do my job despite me asking for extra help for a good year or so. Grrr

Annoyed with my job at the moment, I have my maternity allowance form filled in and printed along with my pay checks ready to be sent off however work still have my MATB1 form and haven't sent me my SMP1 form which I need to send with it. They have now had it for three months and I have been chasing. Beginning to panic now I have 5 weeks left

It is annoying because they know how worried I am at the moment especially as we get closer and could really do without this stress!!

Hope they get your forms to you soon kitten - I haven't filled in my form for my SMA yet (7.5 weeks to go here) as I wanted to wait until all of my payslips from work for this term had come through so I can select the best ones as evidence as my pay varies from week-to-week. I want my pay to start from when the baby is born rather than in the time-period beforehand, so that'll be a job for this Friday when I can do that and my birthplan with Moon so he can be a second pair of eyes in case I miss anything important (usually it's me checking his forms for him, but my brain isn't functioning as well as it used to at the moment - can't believe how many things I'm forgetting all the time now).

SM I was going to do that but phoned them up and was able to choose any 13 weeks from the last 66 weeks so chose the ones I was working full time last year. :) I am looking at being induced at 38 weeks so timings are quite tight now, I like to have things ready in advance but without any confirmation from work and them not even emailing to inform me where things stand I am getting anxious.

I have to keep a book with me at all time to write things down otherwise I forget things.

  • Good luck Clarissa!

moneypuddle I'm not sure you can't self-cert for stress. I'm guessing you wouldn't be able to because we're not qualified to diagnose ourselves with it (as opposed to most common illnesses, eg. flu, food poisoning, etc). May be worth calling your gp and asking? Alternatively, there's a really good website on employment law, https://www.acas.org.uk you may want to try. I think only you can decide when to stop working but whatever you decide, make sure it's what you want and it's what you think it's best for you and the baby.

AFM, not having a good time at the minute at baby is a lot more active and keeps moving at very inconvenient times (e.g. when I'm asleep!) so I'm just really grumpy at the minute. Plus, my pain down below is still there :( not a happy bunny at the minute :(

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hello everyone.

Just popping in for a second to announce that Ben was born on 24th July. I'll come back with my labour story later.

Congrats and labour vibes where due - don't know if I will catch up on the thread as already have over 50 pages to read!
