Thanks turtlemoose I had vision of me with a pint glass trying to give it to bubba lol.
Rups sometimes I get some discomfort/burning down there. Almost like I've not quite emptied my bladder. My urine has always been clear of infection though. They even sent a sample to the lab when the dip they do in the clinic was fine just to be sure. Seems another glamorous perk of pregnancy.
Well as I was awake early I thought I'd do some tidying, washing etc. I've popped my hip and can't walk. So annoyed as things to do. Only got four hours sleep last so might nap for an hour. I like daytime snoozingxxx

hope it gets better soon. yep those perks of pregnancy. lol. might as well get the wee sample checked out by the dip etc. Have made an appointment to see them today after work. Keep going to pee as well as am shoving lots of water down me so can try and flush out any toxins.
am craving chicken wings today with a chilli sauce! agggghhhh

Dizsie that's awful about the people standing and watching. I really don't understand why people are like that. Hope you are feeling a bit better now.
Mummyoftwo I finished work yesterday, it's a lovely feeling knowing that I don't have to get up early anymore! I am looking forward to being able to keep on top of the housework and also rest when I need to during the day. I'm not planning to go back until next July and I've never had this long off work before so it's a nice feeling but a little strange too.0 -

I friend is quite a senior delivery midwife at my hospital so told me that I will have to have one just like everybody else in my PCT… I think you can refuse but god knows why you would want to? I also have raised BMI so even if it wasn’t for everyone I bet I would have to have it anyway…
LittleMoog – I thought it would be something midwife does at 24 week appt…but my 24 week appt is at 26+4 so cutting it fine if test must be done by 28 weeks? But if timing isn’t crucial then it is just the baby app on my phone freaking me out… plus wouldn’t baby already be measuring big if I did have it?? At my scan 2 weeks ago he was on the 50th centile so perfectly average!
Aww thanks Snowyz81, LittleMoog & zcrat41, I don’t care if they just walk on by but it’s the watching like it is a spectator sport and then not one of them asking if I am ok L Luckily it was 8am and not too many people around!
SavageHK – I am dressed for work so I don’t think I look like a crazy drunk! Although it was in Croydon so who knows these days lol… I can’t believe about your friend fainting…how awful are these people???
Why am I still 65 on the list? I can't wait for my boy to arrive and it is taking ages
I would definitely decline a GTT if I was just offered one just because it was standard PCT practice. I'm not really one for unnecessary tests. Funnily enough I was talking to a girl at work about this yesterday as she has been booked for one as her BMI is 30.5 and the cut off is 30. Her Aunt is a senior MW and told her if it was her she would decline, but this girl feels a bit pushed to have it by the hospital (she is only 23 and otherwise very low risk).Morning!
Well after watching the midwife programme last night, my OH came back from his martial arts class to find me sat in front on the tv crying going 'I can't do that'!! So, needless to say, he has now banned me from watching it ever again! And the forceps....
I can't remember who was asking about the GTT, but I didn't have mine until I was nearly 31 weeks! My midwives ballsed up right from the booking appointment etc and seeing as the right hand didn't know what the left was doing, it was only sorted when one of them wrote in huge letters on my form 'This is the third time of referral, please see to it immediately!'.
It really amazes me how, when bf-ing is so widely referred to as the best for the baby, there are so many midwives/drs/paeds who will have you 'give up' nearly straightaway. It is one of my biggest fears - the fact that I just won't have the energy to fight my corner for it, so I think I shall prime my OH to fight it for me!
Anyway, I have virtually no plans for today and am going to drink tea, watch Olympics and 'research' baby things online!
Hugs to all,
Sam x
Good on you, I really think having a supportive OH is one of the most important factors in successful BF. There we imes in the first couple of weeks when I was close to giving up, but my OH made me see that I could do it and I'm so glad I stuck with it.
Please could someone give me a blue symbol on the list please? Found out we're having another boy.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

i feel a bit weird too! actually, im in bed right now because i slept rubbish last night, my older two children are out for the day.
just watched the midwife thing, not as scary as expected but just confirms my thoughts on induction/augmentation of labour:mad:0 -
i'm just watching the midwife programme, i love obem, but not watched it since getting pregnant. I'm in tears, not cause i'm worried or its scarying me, but i just cant wait till its my turn.Mummy to Isabella - March 2008 and Daisie - September 2012:A - November 2011 (mc)0

so pleased i dont watch these shows (midwifes & OBEM) it would freak me out too, also puts negative thoughts in your head about labour grrrr
clarrisa - it could still happen naturally you never know, if not then best of luck with your induction tomorrow, my thoughts will be with you. just think positively that you will meet your baby tomorrow
sexymouse - yeah i think its something like 5cms at my hospital as well before you can get in birthing pool. i am hoping to stay at home as long as possible as worried about getting to hospital and things slowing down.
scottishchick - glad to hear no diabetes for you.
bellola - i think people have given you lots of info re delivery of placenta - if you have skin to skin and breastfeed this encourages hormones that make the natural stage quicker. i am opting for the natural approach if my labour goes well.
savage - i also use the library lots for baby books, its a 15 min walk from my house as well so gets me out and i like to browse.
ok we have our first gold medal in rowing!!!:D
i am feeling pretty good today, have been out for a 30 min walk and baby does feel lower, pressing on the bladder more. i have midwife tomorrow and not looking forward to it, will be 40+3 days and i know she will be offering sweep again.
DH is getting more anxious as the days go by, he has a 30min bike ride from work to get back to me if i go into labour, he is worried he will miss it. i have told him things dont tend to happen that quickly!! lol
labour vibes to those that want them, including myself lol

it can change every day rups - til you hit 34+ weeks then baby tends to stay in one place. with your first, the uterus tens to hold the baby in one place better, thats why they favour the theory that first babies engage sooner. once your done the job once, your uterus is a bit more yeilding and baby can move about for longer. my second baby engaged as a first baby would, but this baby (my third) is definitely not and continues to swap sides frequently!0
