Do u think I could be in labour cl? I'm quite achy and very uncomfortable. Should I phone midwife or will they tell me off for being silly?

I'm def not an expert on labour since I never had one last time, but any friends or family who went into spontaneous labour told me it was like period pains in waves at the early stage. You are 38 weeks so it wouldn't be unheard of.

I wouldn't call the hospital. They tell you to stay at home until you can't speak during the pain LOL! From this thread during my last pregnancy the advice was don't have a warm bath if you want it to progress. It tends to make everything ease off and some of the preggos last time were certain they were in labour and a bath stopped everything for a day or two.

I woke up for a wee at 4.30 this morning and then couldn't get back to sleep someone's car alarm was going off for about 45 minutes and I was well and truly awake by the time it stopped. At work now but feel like poo, wish I could have stayed home!

We had a bit of a frantic clean around last night as our landlord's coming tonight for our annual inspection, I had pilates class before as well, so I was knackered by the time we finished.

Or not. I don't feel right at all. I don't like it

You caould call the hospital and explain that you would like a quick check and then will go home. I'm sure they will understand.

RJH, I'd explain the situation to them and they can then confirm. Can't they strap you up to something to check if you are in labour? I have heard of ladies who go in for induction only to be told that they are in labour even though they didn't know so it must be possible to tell somehow....

They can strap a monitor onto your belly to see if you are contracting, but I think Braxton Hicks show up too, but at least they could see if you have dilated at all?

Rj, as others have said give the labour ward a call, they won't shout at you or think you silly. My mw said to me yesterday that they'd rather get 100 calls from women worrying about nothing than have one lady who really needs them not calling because they don't want to make a fuss.
