Hopefully it's just a fuse that's gone Kitten? Are your washer jets still working? x

Yep they are still working, the back wiper work and the front ones do on two out of the four settings but stop when I slow down for lights etc. I really hope it is something simple, wouldn't mind being told I am an idiot and have just turned a button the wrong way or something.

I thought that but then at our last scan it was a different sonographer and she asked if we knew what we were having. I said that we were working on the assumption of a girl due to all previous scans not showing boy bits. She said that we were definitely having a girl and zoomed in to show us her labia
Yes, but I remember reading that if it's a boy they are looking for a 'turtle', if it's a girl they are looking for a 'hamburger'; and lack of 'turtle' does not mean it's a 'hamburger' :D
  • Morning all!

Just having a quick skim over as loads of tidying still to do :(
Good luck to all those who might be in labour! Exciting times :)
Rebekah lovely to hear from you! I like both names so hopefully you'll decide on one soon. Or toss a coin lol.

Oh I've forgotten everything now, real case of fuzzy brain here today :( hope everyone is ok.
Got my 34 week appt today with my GP this afternoon too.
Hugs to all that need them and big labour vibes to those who need those too :) xxx

omg kitten. you can see that much detail? i wonder if i can 'try' and work out from the scan itself. my sil said you can see a girl's ovaries and stuff. is that true? ooooh last night we were watching tv and i lifted my top up (thank god brother in law had gone to bed) and saw the line we were chatting about yesterday. at first i thought it was a hair line as i am a hairy monkey but i asked DH and he asked what teh hell is that? lol its so long as well.

You can but the angle is not normally right for it when they show you the baby. At our 20 week scan (we didn't want to know, admittedly) she shows you baby first like in all the scan pics (ie side on, so you see head and body and usually an arm), then she turns the screen away while she checks all the stuff on her list, then at the end she showed us side-on again and we got to pick our print out.
I asked her which way baby was lying as I was curious (remembering the first scan where the baby picture could be flicked upside down by the person doing the scan) and she said it was head down, and then moved the scan thingy so we could see the top of the head.
If they are looking to sex the baby they'll rummage around in the non-side on angle looking for 'hamburger/turtle' (but we didn't see any of those other angles except for the head)

Not sure if we were able to see that much detail because it was at 32 weeks. But I could see from the 16 week scan that she was a she and the consultant confirmed this. It was a very clear shot.

Boys have 'turtles' and girls have 'hamburgers' if you look on the scan pics.
Haven't found a decent 'hamburger' pic but this is a good turtle:
