CL - Im in ni as well - lack of maternity clothes is awful - the mothercare at the abbeycentre had the best range i could find - other than that a few of the new look stores had a small range of things - so annoying as buying online isnt great when you dont know about what size you need
what hosp are you having your little one - im in antrim
I'm in Craigavon. I know people slate it, but I had my little girl there and I only have positive things to say about every single person who dealt with me. The anaesthetist, obstetrician, midwives and auxiliary nurses were all fantastic and couldn't do enough for you.
I had a section and when I came on the ward the midwife gave me a buzzer and said not to try to do anything myself. To buzz if I needed the baby passed to me for feeding or if it needed changed. When I buzzed, someone was there within a minute.
My cousin's wife went private to the royal in Belfast and had a section. When she buzzed at night, it was 45 minutes before someone came. The baby cried the whole time.0 -
Congratulations AMC
Happy due date Jedi
LMM, I hope it wasn't my talk of milkshake that persuaded you to have one?!For me it helps stop the heartburn.
DH has a cold so I guess it's only a matter of time before I get it! Off to the midwife today for my 34 week check.

Patience is a virtue I lack!0 -
Bellola – I have one and it goes up to my belly button but it’s starting to creep above it and I have been told to expect a boy! I have dirty blonde / mousey brown hair naturally all over but it has gone nearly black (including my roots) during pregnancy! I have had it since about 16 weeks.
Maternity Clothes – I haven’t found a thing I like but luckily I’m quite a fan of babydoll type clothes so most of my normal tops and dresses still fit for now as they float over the bump! However I have bought some maternity leggings on ebay for £5ish and they are fab…fit really well. Normal leggings are ok but the over bump ones are much more comfy so i have ordered another 2 pairs. I could do with a pair of maternity jeans and a pair of maternity trousers for work but I just haven’t found any that don’t hang like a potato sack…
AMC – Congrats on the birth of baby Luke. Lovely name! Sorry to hear it hasn’t all gone to plan but glad you are getting your mummy cuddles now.
Rups – I used to be all for surprises but now I am so glad we found out… I feel like I have really bonded with my son now and just can’t wait to meet him…It also means I have managed to get him some lovely bits that totally reflect mine and OH’s taste rather than generic whites & creams which is not us at all…flamboyant tastes! If your OH doesn’t want to know I respect that but at the end of the day… you are the one carrying him/her and if you really want to know then find out because it is you who is going through all of the weird changes and if it helps you to relax a little then he needs to put up and shut up! Heehee
Ikkle – My nipples have darkened too and they are HUGE!!! OH is a little bit afraid of them now because rather than looking enticing they look like they are here for a purpose other than for his pleasure!!! I have been wearing nice bra’s for BDing and then sleeping no bra but a vest whereas usually I would go bare for both!
Bumps & Bellies – My bump looks huge and high up some days and then low and saggy on others… midwife showed me how to feel him and now I know that where and how he is lying affects my bump shape so some days I look really pregnant and other I just have a huge saggy mess.
Giving birth – I am not scared of the actual labour because I have nothing to compare it too but what I am terrified of is; pooping in the process, piles, the hair that has grown on my belly never dropping out, cracked and sore nipples, falling out with OH through lack of sleep, being responsible for somebody else!
PGP – Went to hospital Friday night as the pain is so intense now…Have been given some co-codamol so shall see how I go for now.:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -

Morning all
Hope everyone had a nice weekendWe went to the big shopping centre near us to look at a cot in John Lewis, but they're rennovating the store so they only had a really small selection of cots out. We did have a play with the buggy we're getting (Uppababy Vista) which was really nice as we haven't seen any anywhere since we ordered ours at the Baby Show, but I liked it as much as I did before
Also bought my changing bag, a Pacapod one. http://www.johnlewis.com/230742062/Product.aspx?s_kenid=48df094f-19d7-fce8-33bc-00002f3c2f2f&s_kwcid=12x740473
Then we went to Boots to check out the baby event, but we couldn't find 3 things we wanted, so just bought our baby monitor using the advantage card points I'd saved up. I need to go through my list of baby stuff and see what we still need to get, I don't think there's really much left. Next weekend we're emptying the baby's room ready for painting, and going to buy all the paint etc with my parents as we've never painted a room before so we need some advice! :rotfl: Then we're going to paint the next weekend, and get the furniture the week after, so it will start to feel like a proper nursery by then. :j
On the way home we stopped at a few car dealerships, and we've decided that we're going to replace our old car with a Vauxhall Zafira in September. There are loads available in our budget with reasonable mileage etccan't wait to get rid of our old Focus, it's so decrepit! Plus only 3 doors, so no use once Beanie's here.
Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Am I the only one who didn't buy a changing bag? We got one free with our travel system and gave my mum the free boots one for when she had DD. I just couldn't justify the price when I only get SMP.0
-
I haven't bought a changing bag either CL - we've got the Boots one, and we got another Boots one from freecycle so have 2 of them. We only have one changing mat at the moment too, so may have to get another one for downstairs at some point.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
-
We just used one changing mat, but we have a bungalow, so don't have to go up and down stairs. I just wanted to keep the living area free of all the changing stuff.0
-
I have a changing bag as I don't drive so when I'm out with LO I will need to be able to carry everything I need with me.
We have 2 changing mats (3 if you count the travel one that came in the bag) one was a cheaper one than the other. I will keep one downstairs and on in baby's room. I figured for the extra £7 or so it was one less thing to be lugging up and down the stairs
