  • Ikkle glad you're not too hurt. Bet it was a shock to you both. Hole you rest well tonight
Jedi glad your appt went well
    Sillymoo hope the bouncing works
Emsbet I need to get nighties etc so will check out asda, thank you. I've had a couple a while back from there and found the straps were quite long and exposed a lot of cleavage so might be worth trying them on if you haven't already before you get to hospital ;)

Nappy bins we got one for £3 from Facebook site and on a whim I got loads of cassette things in Mothercare in their sale. Still works out a lot more expensive than the 12p nappy sacks. I think a Tommee tipee one. I'll give it a go. I asked the woman selling it and she said it didn't smell the room out. Saying that when trying to sort out the nursery I took it apart and there was a mild stench inside which caught me by surprise. We'll see!

Sorry if I missed anyone, hope everyone sleeps well. Night night

Wow I have had so many pages to catch up on! Got to the last page then realised there was a new thread :rotfl:

Fluff - congratulations, and love the name xx

Ikkle - glad your nose bleeding has stopped

Sillymoo - hope tomorrow is THE day and you get lots of baby cuddles

Moneypenny - Ive bought about 40 reuseable nappies off ebay so far. All different types. I think I know how to use them but not 100% sure :rotfl:Think I'll just have to wing it! We have got lots of disposable newborn ones as well though really cheap/free to start off with

Rebekah - glad your 2nd attempt wasnt as painful, and lots of luck for monday

Sorry I cant remember what else I wanted to say to everyone, think I read too many pages in one go!

Been sat watching my stomach moving tonight, first time Ive been able to actually see the babies moving :T. Had a strange experience last night though, laid in bed and both babies decided they wanted to lay on my right side. The left side of my stomach was all flabby and the right side was stuck right out :rotfl:Very strange feeling!

Well, my due day almost gone and nothing happened. Was bouncing on a ball, been drinking raspberry leaf tea and went for a 40 minute walk. Very disappointing. Was looking forward to doing acupressure but my legs are swollen and I can't find the pressure points :(

re bins - we decided not to get any just now, only bought value scented bags and will see how they work. Figured out we can always buy a nappy bin later if we need it.

Going to bounce on the ball some more. Have a nice evening/night everyone.

Acupressure? Is that to bring on labour? Let me know where they are as I'm now 7 days over!! Sweep in the morning  hope it works...

The pink one I got had adjustable straps so fits fine. The two pack don't and are a little big but not too bad. I may just put a tuck in them nearer the time.

Elj my friend posted a YouTube clip on Facebook about pressure points to induce labour. When im on laptop I will see if I can find it. Good luck with your sweep x

Asda have a 4 pack of black knickers for £4 and they are really soft. Really good for your hospital bag.

Aaaarrgh! Today we hit week 39 so in 1 week we hit due date and my dad turns 60!! Apparently we "don't discuss" that day!! He is just in denile lol!

Rebekah - how exciting for you! Your probably not going to get much sleep over the weekend! Also glad to see that you've now moved me down one spot!

We've taken to 'project get baby out' by eating fresh raspberries with every meal and drinking raspberry tea!! Considering having a curry this weekend, hubby looking forward to some light entertainment if you get my meaning... lol! We are keen to have bubba in the birthing centre instead of the normal maternity ward.

Talking of birthing centre - tried on my tankini and bottoms for the birthing pool and although its an awkward fit, its fits around the bump! So pleased as was not looking forward to being completely nude in the birthing pool!!

Kitten, Sa-ra-ra, Rups - i'm also fairly close to you as well in SE area of London.

Talking of nappies, we are also going to use washable ones. Its quite a mine field trying to work out which is the best ones to use. So from my research i've decided to try out the tot bots easyfit ones. Planning to buy 5 of them from this company and try these out. http://www.naturalbabyshower.co.uk/shop-by-brand/tots-bots/easyfits but to start out going to use the disposable ones. Not bought or planning to use a nappy bin. These will be going straight into nappy sacks and into the outside wheelie bin. Thought of dirty nappy kept in bubbas room isn't for us.

Not sure how much we have spent on bubba so far - dont think we have done too bad. We have bought new nursery furniture at a cost of £660 plus new mattress and changing mat. We bought the car seat and pram system 2nd hand on ebay but they were basically brand new. My friend got us a free swing / bouncer system along with a back up pushchair and we've been given the bulk of the baby clothes from friends. Granny to be has gone a bit mad on baby items too. We mainly bought baby bath, bedding, sterlising kit, breast pump. Some items I have deliberately not bought until bubba is here like travel cot and baby carrier. Auntie to be has bought bubba his play gym mat and baby toys bought mainly from friends.

    Hi guys,

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while! I tried to post last night but the forum wouldn't let me log on.

Yes Jedi you were right - Wednesday was my last day at work. Yours is today isn't it? I hope you enjoy it!

I have been super busy training my replacement. It has been really tough going. I think she will be good. I just didn't realise how much stuff I actually do at work! It's been a bit of an ego boost actually!

On Wednesday night we had our first antenatal class. It was brilliant. We learnt about the 3 stages of labour, perineal massage (yuck!) and optimal fetus postioning for birth.

There were 8 other couples there and they all seemed really really nice. Hopefully we will all click by the end of the course. I am really keen to meet new people - I don't have many friends in this town because we only moved here a few years ago.

Yesterday I spent my first day off at work with DH! Well he had to go into London to meet a client so I went with him (he drove!) and I had a mooch around. It was nice. Then he treated me to Nandos for lunch.

Today I am going to get my hair cut and we are babysitting a friends 1 year old tonight.

Tomorrow we have antenatal classes from 9.30 - 4.30 and then my cousins wedding in the evening. Sunday we have antenatal classes 10 - 4.30.

I thought maternity leave was supposed to be relaxing! LOL

Congrats to Fluff! Love the name.

    Welcome to any newbies.

Thanks Emsbet for starting the new thread.

Rebekah - sorry about the duff EVC - good luck for Monday! how exciting!!!!!

Ikkle - hope you feel better

Gilly - glad to hear that the reusables are going well for you. I have got a whole birth to potty set of tots bots easy fit. They are so cute I hope they work out for us.

Rups - god luck today at midwife

Lady M - sorry about your MS - glad you can have tramadol again!

Little Miss Money - was it you who recommended the book about moneyt and time off? I ordered it and it arrived yesterday. Will start to read today.

Sorry guys I can't remember who else I wanted to reply to.

I hope all those who are feeling pants feel better soon.

    Love to all. xxx
