Hugs ikkle - hope you're feeling better soon and your nose and OH are ok.

A friend of ours recommended a nappy bin (the angelcare one) but I can't justify the cost of all of the casettes that go in them - it costs 12p for tesco value fragranced nappy bags, so we'll be using these and a pedal bin.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

i had one with my first - my main reason for getting one this time is tghat we have no outdoor big bin or an area to put stinky nappies so they would just be sitting indoors for two weeks yuk
i didnt find them smelly i thought they were quite good and sealed the smell in well - i got a tommee tippee one - they also wrap them up smaller too

i picked mine up for a tenner and u can get them in most of the baby events for this price!
love you lots like jelly tots :o

My OH bought a nappy bin thing, waste of money. You have to open it to get the bag out eventually and it stinks. I use a nappy pail now for my reusables though and it's fine :) I stick some essential oil in and you're good to go.

Just remember about the little nappy bags, been lots of stories about them and babies suffocating recently. Aaron took out a whole pack of Pampers wipes toady, one by one too!

    Evening ladies,

I've been to ASDA this afternoon to get some bits for my hospital bag. I got a nightie to wear during labour, it's a cerise colour with some flowers on. It is strappy rather than t-shirt which is good and the straps are adjustable. It was only £5. I also got a pack of two strappy nighties for £8 but they don't have adjustable straps. I also got a pair of very comfy pj bottoms in navy, they are very soft and a bit like yoga pant and a strappy vest top too.

    ((hugs)) ikkle

    xx

We had a special nappy bin contraption with DD1, the room still got stinky and DH would gag uncontrollably when it was time to change it. The cassettes are expensive too.

We ended up chucking the lid away and just using the bottom part as a small size bin - we'd bag (sometimes double-bag if it was bad!) using the value scented nappy sacks and empty the bin every other day as it'd be full by then anyway. It smelt better than the nappy disposal system (think it was Tommee Tippee), and I'd sometimes put a few drops of lavender oil on a wet wipe at the bottom of the bin if it needed freshening up.

Ikkle that sounds nasty, hope you're ok?

I'm ok now thanks guys, glad my nose has stopped bleeding too, OH is very squeamish so it didn't help. Gonna go to bed in a mo though as feel exhausted.

Emsbet - you've just reminded me I need some new leisure pants, my old ones are a bit tatty now but soooo comfy. Vest tops should be great for after labour as they are easier for breastfeeding. I got nighties for my hospital bag but they are the t-shirt size and I think they were sized wrong as I could fit 3 of me in them lol. x

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok :-)

Does anyone know the song Long Time Sun? Its traditionally played at the end of yoga classes to relax and is just the most beautiful song. Ideally I'd like it playing when I give birth, or shortly after.

I can find plenty of versions of it on youtube but just not the one I want. The version I would like is the one this lady has playing in the background of her home birth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxOFhdLiLP0 but all the ones I can find are not quite right. I'm also wanting to add music to our 4D scan DVD.

    Does anyone know it?

Well, my due day almost gone and nothing happened. Was bouncing on a ball, been drinking raspberry leaf tea and went for a 40 minute walk. Very disappointing. Was looking forward to doing acupressure but my legs are swollen and I can't find the pressure points :(

re bins - we decided not to get any just now, only bought value scented bags and will see how they work. Figured out we can always buy a nappy bin later if we need it.

Going to bounce on the ball some more. Have a nice evening/night everyone.
