aww thanks just hate having to ask for help all the time (is so not in my nature) am going to sort through some baby clothes so i at least feel that i'm doing something useful
Iluv freebies sending huge hugs. It's the same here for me so I know you feel. And I'm sat here looking at it all day doesn't help, I didn't do loads before. Glad you've been able to do little bits. the miserable weather doesn't help either. I'm too stubborn to ask for help, but I'll accept help when offered. I'm used to being independent I guess. I've done nothing today except printing off scan photos to post tomorrow.
When I am prime minister things will change. Every pregnant lady will have a massage a week and a cleaner for a few hours a week (maybe at the same time as the massage?). And 2-3 weekly scans so we can marvel at our bubbas:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Yes moneypenny you buy liners for the nappies that you dispose of, unless it's just wee and then i think you can rewash them. I haven't bought any yet, need to send my MatB1 to the council to get our sample pack to show OH first.
We've got all the baby stuff we need now and I don't think we spent that much really - I've lost my list now lol. We've probably gone overboard though, as he has toys and a swing, a bouncer and a playgym lol. Getting him a playnest for christmas too.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

gillyx - just wondering what type of reusable nappy you use?
IKmc01 - have heard the medula swing breast pump is good, they use them in hospitals. i think it is the one i will buy about £95 on amazon or john lewis.
re reusable we are hoping to use these after a few weeks of disposibles. www.goreal.org.uk has lots of info about reusables. i searched my area from this website and found a lady that will provide me with a number of different reusable nappies for a 2 week trial to work out which type i like best, costs about £25 which i think is a good deal for 2 weeks.
Rebekah - cant believe your bubs is coming so early - it must be quite nice to have an actual date:)
re OBEM - i have never watched an episode it would probably scare me to death. i think these kind of shows need drama so they are only going to show you the most dramatic births!
my midwife appt today went really well, i was only in there for 10 mins. baby is measuring just below 90th centile line, BP, urine fine. was good to hear baby is still in headdown position and midwife said has started to move into the pelvis (which explains the pressure, pains and frequent loo trips).
my last day at work tomorrow! woo hoo!

I know how you feel I!!!!!!!!!!!, (weird, I couldn't post your username either!) it is hard not to get down when you can't get out and about much or do anything for yourself. Hope you're feeling a bit happier soon.
moneypenny - well done on all the bargains, that is a lot of savings over all.
I find it annoying now I'm seeing sales and half price deals, I want all the deals to happen in another 6 weeks. I can't buy anything yet, so I really need some bargains to be around once I've got some money.
I'd vote for you in an election LMM
ikkle - I'm not being scanned two weekly, only 4 weekly. I'll have one at 32 weeks, and then at 36 weeks. Are you only having one more?Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -

The toys sound fab, I never thought of Christmas! We could keep some of the toys (like the playgym etc) back for Christmas particularly as he/she will know nothing about xmas anyway! If he/she arrives on their due date they'll be less than 3 weeks anyway!
I'm not sure if all councils do it I know a few do though I found out through a website called goreal.org.uk It also has loads of info on reusable nappies so will be helpful to you
Some of my family are moving back to Australia in December so they've asked for idea's for christmas pressies, so that's why I'm planning so far in advance, trying to think of things he will use as there is a long time between christmas and his birthday so if family chip in for things like the play nest and a few clothes in 6m+ will be helpful, plus he's not really going to know what's happening anyway. I've got him a cute little santa suit already though lol xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

That's me being thick for some reason I thought we were at the back end of July lol. Think it's because my antenatal class was meant to be August 1st and now it's next Wednesday so it's confused my pregnant brain lol. I will be having another scan in 6 weeks when I'm 34 weeks and then it is all down to the consultant on whether I have any more. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Jedi - I use a variety, but mainly Tots bots easy fits and Bum genius. I also have a Bambino Mio Solo that I love, so going to get more. I have heard though that fitted nappies, like little lambs and tots bots bamboozles are better for tiny babies. They are so easy to use and the ones I have are velcro/applix so just like a disposable. They are also birth to potty so should last from 8lbs to 35lbs.
R.e the disposable liners, I don't like them, we use fleece liners here and just wash themRemember when baby is first born, there poo has no solidity to it at all, so you just bung the nappy in the bucket and wash it as it is, it's only when they start weaning etc you will have to shake the poo off, so disposable liners in the beginning are probably more trouble than there worth I'd say. They are flushable but most people don't advise it, as they can block drains. Hope that helps, I'm by no means an expert, I've not long started out, but if anyone has questions I'll try my best to help xx

Hey all,
Glad today was better Rebekah, good luck for Monday!
Hugs to all feeling crappy.
Just popped on to see what everyone's opinions are on nappy bins? Somehow got talking about them with 2 guys from work today who thought I was mad that I didn't intend to get 1. Personally, I don't like to thought of a stash of dirty nappies festering away in the house for a day and 2 and had kind of anticipated going and putting them in the outdoor bin each time. Am I naive to think this?
All those that use/plan to use disposables what do you do about getting rid of them?
Thanks!0 -

I've heard loads of bad reports about nappy bins that they stink and people just end up using a carrier bag in a cheap pedal bin and putting nappies in and then entering after it has a couple in anyway. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Just managed to terrify my other half
Sat eating tea, I'd finished and was watching emmerdale while he finished his, and I felt really warm all of a sudden so went to back door and no sooner had I got there then I threw up. Managed to bust my nose on both sides so he saw sick and blood and panicked
Backs now in even more of a spasm from retching now too
