Hi
I'm due 15th March 2013 - just rung the doctors this morning. I have a 6 year old already so already have alot of baby equipment. I've already bought a travel system for £40 off ebay and although not particularly modern I find it very practical http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Systems-and-Pushchairs/Travel-systems/Graco-Quattro-Tour-Deluxe-Travel-System-I-Love-My-Bear(0068326)?searchPosition=8
I cant believe how different I am feeling towards buying baby stuff now compared to my first. When I had my first I wanted all the latest stuff, room temperature guides, nursing chairs, not everything at the top price but still everything!!!
I have already got the following -
cotbed
matress
travel system (with new car seat)
baby walker
bouncer
moses basket
high chair
bedding
I intend to get anything else I need (inc. maternity clothes) up to when little one is born for under £200. Think this is very possible due to the list above.
What do people think of washable nappies?????
Whats the best breast pump you know of?????0 - elj2287 - 6th July 2012 ? Going for a supriseo

LadyM glad you can have your tramadol again
sorry to hear he wasn't much use though. Could your GP seek the advice of another ME consultant via the clinic. I mean they must be able to speak to a consultant even at another hospital.
Walk in centres I think other areas call these minor injury centres. It seems to be in areas where they've closed an A&E and have to provide somewhere for people to access a dr.
Vicrich did they not want to scan your pelvis? I know they won't do X-rays but either CT or MRI I forget which one they do in pregnancy. Glad you have an appt for tomorrow though. Please don't let them fob you off to maternity again, I see their thinking, but what are maternity going to do about a fracture/crack? it makes sense that baby will add pressure and to the pain, but maternity dept can't do anything for that.
Colli and Emsbet thank you for the lovely messages
Welcome to the newbies
Ikmc sounds doable. We've prob spent £400 on everything and we got a complete travel system, medela breast pump (seems to be most recommended), breast friend pillow, bathing trolley, I love my bear complete bedding set, bouncer chair, steriliser with bottles, bottle warmer, bottle bag etc in fact pretty much everything including loads of clothes. MIL is getting our cot and my sister got our Moses basket.
might be worth asking over on the newborn thread as lots of people on there use them. There's lots of different ones. I know a few ladies here have bought some. I really like the idea, but I'm so stocked on disposables now lol. Got quite a few bits from our local Facebook free/cheap sites from local mums. So if you're on facebook might be worth a look.
As for maternity clothes new look has a sale online with nice bits. Next has nice stuff, but never bought from there, Mothercare had an online sale but they still seem a bit expensive for basics. Sorry I'm not out and about much so mainly shop online. Not sure if you need smart work clothes or just casual like me. Got lovely jeans in asda which were reasonable and black trousers (in case I need to be smart). Got some lovely tops in new look that wash well etc. I've not spent loads on clothes, had quite a few tunic like tops that I can get away with wearing.
Had another funny turn, must be this time of the afternoon. May be the lack of cake todayfelt hot but temp only 37.4. Will go in search of cake and sit in bed watching tv I think. Not like I've done anything strenuous but you can never be too careful

Reusable nappies are fab. If you're sensible will work out so much cheaper than disposables, less poo/pee leaks for sure. I've had no leaks with my reusables compared to poo explosions with Huggies and really funny smells with pampers. The only thing I don't like is, they seem to contain the smell better so unless you've seen it's hard to know when a nappy is dirty. There are so much nicer than the sposies on, so soft for babies bum and ideal if baby has sensitive skin. I'm a total convert
