hiya all hope you all well!
im so sorry but my main reason to post today is to be very selfish and let off some steam, some off you may rember my first post when i explained everything that has gone on so far!
well quick re-cap i was in a major car crash at 5weeks and bubs suvived etc
car writen off so explains the impact,
well i have been havein private physio due to a buggard hip & pelvis, couldnt have xrays etc due to baby, but they belived their to be a small crack in my pelvis, to which they would leave to mend its self due to baby, well my pains have been getting worse & worse and im now at the point i carnt walk, so i ring my doctors to hear no appt till monday, explain im 23weeks pregnant, to be told ring mat dept to which i do, to be told as it is an on going condition take two parctomals and get on with it, in discust i had a right go at the woman, all i wanted was some resurance some help, a few kind words and i got well its pointless going to a&e as its not an emergancy! well what do i do now!
sorry this post probbly sounds all over the place im balling my eyes out not knowing what to do i feel so alown and the people that are ment to help dont want to know!

oh no vic. so sorry to hear of your crash and how low you are feeling. is there anyway you can speak to midwife or even go to explain how you feel and how they should be more sensitive/. hugs for you. i hate it when people show no compassion and just treat you like a number. maybe you should also ring the head of maternity and complain that you are in pain and people are just telling you to get in with it esp as you are in so much pain!

Hey Vic hugs to you! Sorry to hear you are having a tough time; I think you should call your Dr's back again and ask for an emergency appt; they always have these available on a daily basis and if you can't walk and the maternity department are not able to help then I would class this as an emergency! I know sometimes Dr's receptionist aren't the easiest of people (sorry if anyone on the thread is a Dr's receptionist!) but if you stay calm and explain to them that you do not think that you can cope or manage over the weekend without seeing someone I am sure that they will find an available appt for you. Hope they help you. xxx

Do you have a walk in centre near you. They normally have GPs and drs for non emergencies for those who need to see a dr. If not I would go to A&E, it may not be a medical emergency but you can't walk! How do you survive until monday?
I don't know why they told you to ring the maternity dept, I think they were fobbing you off. If you have a crack in your pelvis that's not baby related and maternity do not deal with fractures. I mean if you have a broken arm you don't go to a midwife. Also they should really attempt a scan of your pelvis if they suspect a fracture. Where do they think is fractured? Some areas they don't do any surgery, it's literally pain killers and mobilising as pain allows. You can take codeine in pregnancy and while some people are reluctant it is safe (many are prescribed it) and you need to balance being in a bit less pain and being able to move etc.
Sounds to me you need a medical review and if the only place to get that is A&E I would go. Xxxxxx

Vic a couple of us are struggling with mobility due to SPD, problems with pelvis, spinal problems etc. I know me and LMM are pretty much house bound because of it. The only thing I can suggest is you keep trying to get a GP appointment, you can take codeine which is stronger than paracetemol but there is a real limit to what medication you can have during pregnancy and unfortunately all that can be done is to try and lessen the symptoms and aggravation of the joints etc and speak to your midwife at your next appointment.

I would also speak to your physio as they should be able to give you items to help you such as crutches etc. You could also look into if you have a local shop which rents wheelchairs etc. I was given mine by a lady at our local chemist but don't use it much as we live in a maisonette so it's awkward to get it outside. x

Hi all, my SIL had a baby boy on tuesday and when i saw her yesterday she asked me if i knew where to get what she described as a belt that supports the tummy after having given birth. Do any of you know what this may be called and where to buy it. hopefully in a off line shop.
(all i though of was those large granny support knickers!)

LMM, you'll be a fab mummy, don't worry. I'm starting to get really nervous about the idea of travelling 90miles for my mum's wedding 4 days before my EDD. I initially though it would be fine, after all there are hospitals nearby, but the closer it gets the less unsure I feel. I am most concerned about going in to labour while we are in Shrewsbury and being unable to go home but also not been far enough along to go to hospital. The idea of labouring at my PIL's house at the early stages fills me with dread. They are lovely people but they fuss so much and I don't think I'd be able to handle it
