Our antenatal teacher told us last night that we should get fitted for a nursing bra around 38 weeks and then go up a cup size to allow room for the milk to come in.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Ikkle I think mine is low too. I feel what I think is the bum not much further up from my belly button. MW said that baby was head down when I saw her last though. I don't feel anything in my ribs, instead it's all a couple of inches up from my belly button. I'm convinced baby is going to be early though so I think it's moved down ready! I have my 34 week appt tomorrow so will be interesting to see if MW thinks baby is low too.

Seems there is a few of us who feel like our babies might come early. I get a lot of bits sticking out just above my bikini line and the odd sensation in line with /maybe an inch above my belly button. I've got my midwife next week and then another scan in a couple of weeks so will be interesting to find out if he's settled down yet as at any other appointment position has always been variable as he moves so much.

  • Oh Ikkle it wasn't aimed at you at all or anyone else on here! I was referring to someone I'm close to in RL who likes to remind me how little she put on and blah blah blah. Didn't mean she was a good mum though haha, I'm getting b!tchy must put my claws away! I'm sorry if you thought it was aimed at you. I kinda like having my bump :) It's getting a little bit in my way though so I wouldn't mind sharing a couple of inches with you ;)

AMC I know it's not how you planned, but at least you have an end insight so to speak. Sounds like they're really keeping an eye on you. You never know you might have started labour by Friday. I bet everyone has said this but as long as you're both ok that's all that's important.

I'm not sure about nursing bras, I just thought you went and got measured and they told you what size. I guess I'm quite naive though.

Got a heavy headache, I've drank plenty and just eaten so hopefully it'll disappear. OH is out with his workmates so have had a nice chill out evening. I think bubba and smell my sandwich as he's doing his dance lol. Gonna head to bed in the hope of dozing off soon xx

Im going to post a video on the fb group later, i have a bum sat right next to my belly button & feet that sit in line with that on my right side, or his feet are stretched down to my hip bone. i dont get anything higher than my belly button line either.

my next scan is in 2 ish weeks so interested to see where he is sat !

Hi everyone and sorry not to thank each of you personally for your advice, difficult to remember to thank everyone without going back and forth between pages! But I loved Fluff's post, thank you :D

Anyway I have some news which has pretty much taken things out of my hands. I had the scan today and they said there's hardly any amniotic fluid in there for some reason – not sure why as I haven't had a rupture – but they said it can also be because the baby isn't weeing, even though currently his heartbeat is good and he's not in distress. But, because I've already gone over my due date 5 days they want to induce me because the doctor doesn't think there's any benefit to baby staying in there any longer and actually things might deteriorate, or at least they couldn't guarantee they wouldn't. Also they think he is a bit on the small side (funny this wasn't mentioned before). They put me on the monitor for the second day in a row to monitor baby's movements, for ages, but they are at least happy with his movements.

It was a real emotional shock though when they said they wanted to induce me today if there was room on the labour ward. I was fighting back the tears. Rather to my relief though they don't have any room til Friday. So basically, I'm booked in for an induction via pessary at 8am on Friday. And I've had a proper stretch & sweep now and am 1cm dilated so things are starting to happen, albeit slowly ... of course there's a chance I might go into labour before Friday but I'm not having contractions yet, so probably will be the induction.

So I'm a bit sad because I won't get to have a water birth like I wanted, and my birth plan is pretty much out the window, but I'm relieved in a way too that they discovered this problem and that I will get to meet my baby by the weekend. It was a very tiring day though not just from the heat, as I was in the hospital nearly 4 hours.

I'll be back to post the labour story eventually I suppose but no surprises for the birth I think! Also got to go back to hospital tomorrow for the third day in a row to monitor the baby's movements, but I am glad they are doing so much for me. Can't fault the hospital care.

I really want to thank you all though for your advice and support and I do hope that the rest of you have very smooth labours when it comes to them. Clarissa and Robyn, good luck!

    xx

AMC - I know this isnt what you wanted but at least you'll have bubba by the weekend. It also sounds like thing are happening with Robyn. I'm just letting the side down!! Absolutely nothing happening here!! Good luck.

ohh good luck AMC. sounds so great! you will see little one soon. yay:)

dont tell me about bras. i need a few as the mothercare one is so ugly and is not fitting well. how I let the woman measure me and convince me to buy a bra so i am stupid. its horrid. I then called next today to see if they stocked some maternity wear including bras and she said yes so trecked it to oxford circus and they told me they dont stock anymore so have to buy online! how annoying! so i went into new look and spent more money in the sale. didnt find any maxi dresses at all and bought two pairs of holiday trousers as i need some for my holiday soon.

i will have to go online and order on next as i need a new tankini too. their sale is rubbish (for me anyway) as their sizes are out of stock. only thing is how do i know what size say tankini to order? When i got my bras from bravisimo i measure a 32 GG (massive i know). but now i have no idea what i am. mothercare woman said i am 36E or F i dont agree though. aggghh maybe i better go back to bravisimo. :( mission
