  • Thanks Gilly and Rups! I've just checked but no tankinis, only one swimsuit and it's out of stock!

Colli I think you did mention it! I remembered someone talking about it and I'd already checked, none left :(

Sorry Mishka, I never got any money off coupons from them so can't help you there.

Millie, I agree with the others, it's unlikely to be anything urgent or they'd have asked you to come over sooner/dr would call you asap.

I'm trying really hard to do some uni work but it's not working that well, motivation levels aren't great. I may just do another half an hour and call it a day... can't wait for all of this to be all done:(

Hi everyone and sorry not to thank each of you personally for your advice, difficult to remember to thank everyone without going back and forth between pages! But I loved Fluff's post, thank you :D

Anyway I have some news which has pretty much taken things out of my hands. I had the scan today and they said there's hardly any amniotic fluid in there for some reason – not sure why as I haven't had a rupture – but they said it can also be because the baby isn't weeing, even though currently his heartbeat is good and he's not in distress. But, because I've already gone over my due date 5 days they want to induce me because the doctor doesn't think there's any benefit to baby staying in there any longer and actually things might deteriorate, or at least they couldn't guarantee they wouldn't. Also they think he is a bit on the small side (funny this wasn't mentioned before). They put me on the monitor for the second day in a row to monitor baby's movements, for ages, but they are at least happy with his movements.

It was a real emotional shock though when they said they wanted to induce me today if there was room on the labour ward. I was fighting back the tears. Rather to my relief though they don't have any room til Friday. So basically, I'm booked in for an induction via pessary at 8am on Friday. And I've had a proper stretch & sweep now and am 1cm dilated so things are starting to happen, albeit slowly ... of course there's a chance I might go into labour before Friday but I'm not having contractions yet, so probably will be the induction.

So I'm a bit sad because I won't get to have a water birth like I wanted, and my birth plan is pretty much out the window, but I'm relieved in a way too that they discovered this problem and that I will get to meet my baby by the weekend. It was a very tiring day though not just from the heat, as I was in the hospital nearly 4 hours.

I'll be back to post the labour story eventually I suppose but no surprises for the birth I think! Also got to go back to hospital tomorrow for the third day in a row to monitor the baby's movements, but I am glad they are doing so much for me. Can't fault the hospital care.

I really want to thank you all though for your advice and support and I do hope that the rest of you have very smooth labours when it comes to them. Clarissa and Robyn, good luck!

    xx

Mishka theres a £2 voucher available on the Huggies club, but if you pm me your address I can post you one of the cardboard £2 vouchers too.

LMM when I talk about my lack of bump and weightloss it's not to make people feel bad, I'm genuinely envious of people with bumps as I want people to know I'm pregnant and they don't. I want someone to ask how long left now without me having to tell them I'm pregnant first. :(

AMC - I know you didn't want inducing but at least your doing it because it's in bubs best interest rather than just because the midwifes say you have to have one as your overdue. I hope the labour goes smoothly despite it not being your preferred way.

Bubs is laid so low, you all keep talking about how you can feel heads/feet in your ribs and I'm 30 weeks now and he's laid sideway's inline with my belly button - how is that even possible at this stage??

Snowzy - I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. It's good that your midwife wants to see you and offer some support.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Oh and Mishka there is an offer on at Sainsburys where if you buy an economy pack of Huggies you get a 9 pack of Huggies wipes free.

So if you get the voucher from me and the voucher from the huggies site then you would pay £4.99 rather than £8.99 for a pack of either 62 size 2's or 54 size 3's plus 9 packs of wipes and then your freebie :) x

Ikkle I think mine is low too. I feel what I think is the bum not much further up from my belly button. MW said that baby was head down when I saw her last though. I don't feel anything in my ribs, instead it's all a couple of inches up from my belly button. I'm convinced baby is going to be early though so I think it's moved down ready! I have my 34 week appt tomorrow so will be interesting to see if MW thinks baby is low too.
