No....nor the boredom when you are overdue and daren't go out anywhere when its busy.....!

I would also like to thank someone (I can't remember who - possibly Gillyx???) who gave me advice about bedding and sleeping bags. I have bought some lovely sleeping bags from Tescos (used some clubcard vouchers as they are worth double - so they only cost me £20 for all 4 - woohoo!).

This one arrived this morning and its lovely: http://www.tesco.com/direct/by-carla-raspberry-bloom-25tog-sleeping-bag-68cm/229-8912.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=229-8912

    These arrived yesterday:

Congrats bigbird, hope you and baby Oliver are keeping well :-) all the best for tomorrow snoz, hope the induction goes smoothly. Afm had my 38week appt on wed and baby isn't engaged yet! Ah well just have to wait and see. I have a sweep booked for 26th on due date provided i don't go before which is prob unlikely seeing as baby hasn't started to descend!

Dida those cookies and cake look amazing!

Don't count on that.. it is very common for first babies to not engage until you are in labour. I had been in labour almost 17 hours before DS1 engaged and when he did it was with one movement which was incredibly painful.

DS2 engaged at 16 weeks and they assured me he would move... he never did!!! He arrived at 31 weeks.

    Wee lurker here.
Congrats to bb. Hope your inductions goes smoothly snozberry.

Quick question for ladies who have had 2 or more.
Did no.2 arrive earlier than no.1?
Had my growth scan yesterday and the estimated bubs at 6lbs( I know these can be out) I was a queue jumper on here with ds when my waters burst at 36+5 and I'm hoping for a vbac this time but I really don't want to be induced. I obviously don't want to go earlier than with ds but a nice 38 weeks would be nice.

6lbs is about perfect for 36/37 weeks!

My first is the only one I got to 40 weeks my other 9 were all 30-37 weeks... worryingly, currently 29 weeks!!!!

Chances are they won't induce you if you've had a previous section they will just want to do another section at 39 weeks... oh.. even if they said they will.. the chances are when you get there, they will refuse.

Yup they said bubs will be a biggish baby. Ds was 7lbs 13oz so I'm expecting around the same size, so 9lbs at 39 weeks.
My consultant has said they will let me go overdue by 2 weeks and then only induce by sweep/ breaking waters or the drip.
My consultant is great and very pro vbac. I just don't want the drip again! So hopefully will go on my own earlier.
Hope you keep yours in for a good few weeks yet pp.
    Thanks

Anderson, it makes no difference for me but I have been told that there is no way they will induce someone (me) if you've had a previous section as the chance of uterine rupture is significantly increased.

Sweeps are obviously okay but they appear to have very limited success for some women.

This is another reason I don't want induced. My hospital will induce with pitocin, but not with a pessary or gel.
I think ill be bouncing on my ball, eating curry and having lots of sex from 37 weeks!

Just made BigBird's lemon curd and raspberry cake! YUM!! I am far too impatient to let it cool properly, so just had a slice warm, the lemon curd is still all gooey and delicious. Thank you for the recipe :) (if you are still reading...!)

I think I was a bit over enthusiastic with the lemon curd, though, as the bottom of the cake is basically all soggy with lemon curd, but DELICIOUS!

Highly recommend it to pass the time whilst waiting for a baby to arrive (both the baking and the eating of it...)

Hope everybody is having a nice weekend. Thinking of Snozberry and hope all going well.

    I want my baby out!!

Hey everyone, those cakes sound lovely!

Just thought I would let you all know that mothercare have £30 off the medela swing breast pump at the moment making it 99.99 which I thought was quite good!

They also had quite a lot of their maternity range on a clearance rail, and j managed to get a black tankini reduced to £5 from £25, which I thought I could wear in the birthing pool hopefully! I don't know if that's in all stores tho it didn't look like an official sale just a clearance.

We also picked up the maxi cosi cabriofix for £94.95, so all in all spend more money today than I would have liked!! :-/

Oh well, Chinese takeaway tonight before my last nct session tomorrow which is all day 10am til 4pm. Sure I will be knackered after that

Hope alls well and snozberry got on ok today

I haven't seen lovecake around for a while?

statistically there is a very low chance of rupture but the consultants LIKE doing sections.. it is easy and can be planned and that is all they are interested in.

They have very little experience.. next to none.. of people who say no.. and when you do they make you sit there until you give in to their wants.

They often SAY they will induce but when it actually comes to it they don't do it.

they come up with all sorts of lies and fake stats.

TBH most of the consultants I have come across I wouldn't let them near my cat having kittens. They are uninformed bullies who abuse their position using scare tactics and lies.
