Mmm all this baking chat... raspberry and lemon curd cake, choc chip cookies... *drooling* - anybody want to share some recipes?? This week I've made a ginger cake, and some white chocolate cookies from an amazing american recipe which turns out to be foolproof:

A batch of these barely lasts a day in our household (and it's only me and DH!)
Princesspinky - my arm was quite sore for a few days after the jab but other than that I didn't notice any effects.
Dida - I don't think there's any chance of me queue jumping, this baby seems very happy where it is. Had a lovely dream last night that we'd had the baby and woke up very confused to still be pregnant.
Snozberry - thinking of you, come on that baby! I can't remember, have you had a sweep/do you want one?
Big strong push-them-out labour vibes to all those wanting them!

I had the sweep yesterday and she said that would be surprised if it would work because my cervix isn't quite ready. It was sooooo uncomfortable!
You know, I can't believe how fed up and bored I am today.0 -

He has started getting out of bed and wandering about now too, something he didn't do when we first took his cot bars down. We've had to lock his door a couple of times as I am scared of him getting into any cupboards he shouldn't do, but don't like having to do that at all
I don't like the thought of locked doors either. I've put a stairgate up across the doorway to Freddie's room. Makes it a bit like a cage but he can play in there and see me and I can keep him safe without having to shut the door.

I'm no doctor, but generally I'm sticking to NHS advice, and the NHS website says:
Soft ice creams should be fine to eat when you're pregnant, as they are processed products made with pasteurised milk
McDonalds website says that McFlurrys are made with pasteurised milk, so I think you should be ok?
I thought that the soft ice cream thing is more to do with homemade ice cream that has raw eggs in it etc. That said, I haven't been too worried about the odd runny yolk (or licking the bowl when making cakes...) as we buy supermarket lion stamped eggs.
If in doubt, have a chat with the midwife/GP - there is so much conflicting advice out there, it's hard to know what you should or shouldn't do sometimes.0 -

As I understand it it's not the icecream thats the problem, it's the hygiene of the machines as they can harbour listeria (sp)
Labour vibes to those waiting impatiently
Waves at bump buddy Rumfeeble, glad all is well with you no advice re the car seat as we got ours as part of our travel system. I have a Mazda 2 so was limited re what system would fit in the boot!

It is the ice cream vans that were the worst culprits.. and guilty of not cleaning their pipes.. but yes this was the issue with the soft ice cream.. it is cheaper to buy your own cones and ice cream and flakes anyway.. and you can eat as many as you like!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Ooh, those cookies look good. I might have to make some of those too
Raspberry and lemon curd cake is a Xanthe Clay recipe but I can't find it on t'internet. I'll post it later, if you want it Mrsj? Would do it now but I'm on DH's tablet at the mo which is a nightmare to type on, so I'll get the laptop out to avoid me having an almighty strop. Though it seems from last night's posts that an almighty strop might not be such a bad thing...
Baby has had a jig about after his sugar rush this morning, so I'm going to see how he goes for now. I'm meeting DH for lunch so my excuse for having a pudding will be that the baby needs it for medicinal purposes
