    Hi all,

    congrats Lola :)

Hope everyone is ok - I'm feeling miserable today, think its cus the weather is miserable and I'm tired :(

TMI....has anyone had thrush during pregnancy? I've never had it before but have it really bad now, its driving me mad - I've been to the chemist and she advised using the external cream but not tablets or pessaries so I have used that yesterday and this morning but not helping at all

    Sorry for TMI

I had thrush at about 16 weeks I think, as I was on antibiotics. Doc gave me prescription for pessary and cream, so maybe ask if you can get that? In the end I didn't use the pessary as the thrush cleared up on its own after I finished the antibiotics, I just used the cream when I needed to. But I think the pessary is fine to use, it's just the oral tablets you need to avoid during pregnancy.

It isn't Easyjet who want the letter sparkles, it's to validate the travel insurance apparently.

It was my midwife that told me I needed one.

Part of me thinks I should just not bother as have never had to claim on TI before, but knowing my luck the one time I don't, something will happen!

Re: thrush - I found ice-polls down my trousers (but not pants) helped with the swelling and canesten cream for the itch. They are cheap enough to throw after!

What are Ice-polls? The itching is driving me insane today - I'll try anything!

You go to the chemist.. speak to pharmacist and get thrush treatment prescribed.. just say you have thrush with external symptoms and can you have something on the minor ailments please.. you don't pay as you have maternity exemption.. they are sometimes a bit offy about giving the pessary but the cream they hand over ok.

Unfortunately they are not able to hand over decent pain killers so I just triple up on OTC ones.

I paid £10 for my Fit To Travel letter from GP - they must have their own pricing levels.

Re Thrush - I was able to get Femme Pads from Mothercare, they're gel pads for use after giving birth but I'm sure they could be used to ease the discomfort and itching with thrush. Might be an idea to help.

Not long back from my scan and he's breech again  , I was told not to worry, he's very active and there is still time for him to turn again - am 32+1 weeks and should be induced in 6 weeks so fingers crossed. Size wise he's still measuring about a week ahead so thats not bad and I got to see anaethestist who said my pelvis problems may actually help with giving birth (as long as Wriggler has turned and can come out the natural route!)

Plleeeease somebody tell me that extreme irritability is a sign of impending labour!! I'm a horrible irrational b1tch this evening!! Poor DH has done nothing wrong other than decided not to go out this evening and to go out tomorrow instead..... and for some reason I'm ridiculously annoyed because a) we ate early so that he could go out and b) I thought I'd have a bit of time in the house to myself (rare!) to do some cooking and cleaning..... All he's done is be lovely but I don't even want him anywhere near me now... and I can still get the cooking and cleaning done with him here..... horrible hormones!!

Oh well, irritability aside, have had a lovely day, got hair done and cooked some bits for the freezer. Come on baby, I'm all ready now!!

    Yeah ice lollies :)

I got travel insurance from Debenhams, they didn't ask for anything - odd how they vary so much.

Great midwife appointment - baby is head down and engaged - yay!
