Maybe there's something in the air 'cause my tiny human's going nuts as well :rotfl: She's not sat still for 5 mins since the other day when I was concerned that she wasn't moving enough - obviously I appreciate the reassurance but come on!
Holiday all booked - just need to spend my lunch hour printing confirmations and check ins and the like :j No idea what I'm going to do for holiday clothes mind you!
Can't believe I've got to 28 weeks already - very exciting but terrifying all at the same time. Was looking at my (sizable) bump this morning and it's definately all bump - I appear to have stayed the same shape but just attached a beachball to my front.

Morning all. Happy labour vibes to all that need them! I've been keeping up with this thread but not posting much, not much to report really!
However, this week I'm finally at the halfway mark (20 weeks) and have my scan on Thurs - I'm SO nervous it's unbelievable but OH keeps telling me to be positive. Just terrified that something might be wrong at this stage
Can feel the occasional poke and prod but nothing big and not consistent yet, looking forward to the day she/he is really kicking properly!
Don't worry poppy, I felt exactly the same and so did everyone else that I've spoken to. It's natural to worry but I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine. Let us know when you've had the scan! Are you going to find out the sex?My Debt Free Diary

Hi ladies! Fab fab weather here, am loving it - makes the waiting game so much easier when I can sit in the garden soaking up some sun!
Labour vibes to the boldies (and anybody else who wants them.. including me) and 'stay put' vibes to IHateDida!
I'm another one with a very active baby at the moment - loads of hiccups and general wriggling, although it doesn't actually move much in terms of position just kicks around.... trying to escape through my skin...or something!!
Poppy - good luck for your scan, I was also very nervous before the 20 week scan, I think it's only natural to feel that way. Try to enjoy the scan (I didn't because I was so worried they'd find something wrong!) and remember that it's very unusual for there to be anything wrong. It will be lovely to see your little baby on the screen again!
Claree - how exciting about your holiday, so pleased you got it sorted. We had a break a few weeks ago, just in Cornwall so nowhere exotic, but we had good weather and it was great to just get away for a bit.
BigBird - let us know if anything exciting happens! I'm trying to do a bit of walking each day to encourage the baby on its way - the only problem is I am walking at literally half my usual speed so don't get very far :rotfl:
Lovecake - that picture is SO cute!
Just been to M & S for a nursing bra fitting - have bought a pack of two and decided I'll see how I go with them and then go back for another fitting when the baby is actually here and my milk has come in etc. Everybody seems to have different experiences of different places but I am happy with the fitting and the bras seem nice, so will go with them to start with!
Right, back to sitting in the garden.. it's a hard life...0 -

Thanks Claree and MrsJ28
I know it's normal to worry, I'll try not to drive myself too crazy
Claree - We are going to find out the sex if poss but keep it a secret from everyone else hehe! I am so jealous of your holiday, sounds amazing! Best I can hope for is a couple of sunny Saturdays in the garden for the next few months!
MrsJ28 I think I have the same nursing bras as you (2 for 28 from M&S) I got them as I was looking for maternity bras and thought I may as well get nursing ones now rather than buy normal soft mat bras now and then need to buy nursing ones later (although aware my shape/size is still subject to change!) They are pretty comfy and I much prefer them to my underwired bras as they dig right in now. I was worried about support, as a larger busted lady, but they do the job (I'm not about to go jogging in them but they're fine for day-to-day!)0 -
Hi everyone!
I need to get some new nursing bras too! I bought some when I was earlier on in the pregnancy thinking I wouldn't change size much and to be fair, by boobs are pretty much the same size, but since my ribs have started to splay out a lot in the last few weeks to accommodate the baby I feel that I need to go up a back size. I'll get some new ones and hang on to the ones I have for when I start to get my normal shape back.

I saw my midwife this morning and, as usual, it was a new face and the same grumpy, why-am-I-here? attitude. I am beginning to wonder if being a grumpy mare is a prerequiste for being a community midwife. Can't say that I will miss them when my little un arrives.
Anyway, everything is fine but she wanted to know why I complained and saw someone at the hospital in regards of my care. She wanted to know if it was if they had done so I told her that it was. That went down like a lead balloon. I did explain myself though in a diplomatic way.
She wanted to perform a stretch and sweep but I declined. She then wanted to know why so I told her that I'd rather book one (like I was told in my last visit) and have someone with me in case I need to be driven home. She then went on and on about how it needs doing sooner rather than later because it will be more painful and I won't be able to use to birthing suites (they have some jazzy suites at the hospital) because I will be high risk blah di blah.
She then told me that she hopes that I am going to breas t feed. I took personal offence to that because it is a personal choice and breas t feeding doesn't work for everyone. I don't want to set myself up for a fall.
Can't you just tell that I hate going there??
Anyway, baby is two fifths engaged and an active baby is nothing to worry about. His heart beat is good and healthy which is fab.
I just have to play the waiting game, eat pineapple and go on a few short walks. I haven't been drinking raspberry leaf tea because my gp and consultant didn't know much about it plus I lost my mum to an aggressive form of breas t cancer.

Oh she sounds charming!! Lol! You are perfectly within your rights to decline a stretch and scoop (as someone called it on OBEM! :rotfl:) and you shouldn't have to give a reason. They are just nosy! You can even decline to be induced if you want to - they can't make you.
I'm going to try to breastfeed, but I won't beat myself up about it if I can't do it. Quite a few people I know didn't manage it with their first (including my sis) and some didn't manage with their second either so I'll just see how I get on. I have a few bottles and some formula just in case I'm struggling.
Glad baby is getting into position for you and that everything else is fine!0 -

OMG! That's absolutely terrible advice! Only after 2 weeks over-due do things start becoming a little more risky - and that is if baby is showing signs of being in distress! I am not going to have a sweep until I am at least 1.5 weeks over-due - perhaps 2 weeks - and then I am going to ask questions as to whether the baby is in distress and do I really need it. After all our due-dates are only an estimate and I moved forward 3 days on my LMP date anyway! Saying you won't be able to use a birthing suite if you are over-due is like bribery.
I would write all of this down and send in another complaint if you have the time and effort. I am appalled at how they have treated you!
One of the mw's I have seen was terrible - very matron like but the other 2 have been absolutely wonderful! I am wanting to hold on a bit longer as the one I really like (who I saw for the first time last week) is on holiday this week and I would love for her to be there for my home birth as she is just so funny!
I don't want a matron-type mw coming to my home - I have been told I can refuse to have the mw that originally offended me which I am so pleased about - no way is that woman coming into my home! I have already bought 2 gift vouchers to give to the mw's who come round (home birth permitting of course!) - I figured they would prefer an M&S voucher as opposed to a box of chocs as they must get loads of them!
I am really shocked as your treatment Snozberry - I hope you get better mw's at your birth.0
