Heartburn's awful isn't it!? I have had what I now know was very mild heartburn before, on Christmas Day after a big meal, etc. I never knew it could be as painful as this. Typically, as soon as I bought a big bottle of heartburn meds, mine hasn't been nearly as bad.

I've been seeing weird spots in front of my eyes recently. Like little bright floating lights. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow and am wondering if I should mention it? Don't know if it's pregnancy related.

@yumyums AFAIK that is any visual disturbance you should definitely mention to your midwife. Even if it is nothing it is better th bring it up.

    Hope everyone is well

Yes, definitely! Sorry to be alarmist and I hope everything's OK but visual disturbances like you mention are linked to high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia and need thorough investigation. Pregnancy can cause blurred vision too, but I don't think this is as potentially serious.

    You must get this checked.

Out of interest, a general question for yumyums and everyone else, do your notes have a list of symptoms that should always be mentioned to the midwife? Mine did. At my booking appt I was showed the page, she talked me through the symptoms listed and reiterated that I must never ignore them but to contact her or the hospital straight away.

These included severe pain and bleeding, itching particularly of the hands and feet, sharp abdominal pain particularly towards the top right, visual disturbances, severe headaches, excessive swelling. There were others that I can't now remember.

Check your notes. It's important to know.

I read this about this, too. In fact, my eye test is due this summer but I am not bothering with it until a few months after baby is born. Although my vision feels fine, I know that pregnancy has altered my prescription.

However, if anyone has any doubts or feels unsure about anything your midwife or doctor should be your first port of call.

so i found out this morning that i may seriously queue jump at some point, ive been telling my midwife all along that i think im further along as conception times in my opinion were out by 3 weeks as me and my partner had split up a couple of weeks before they think i conceived. anyway i went to a antenatal appointment this morning and the consultant told me that she thinks i may be right with my original date that i gave and that littlun may just be small, doesnt mean that they will change dates because that of course would be them admitting that they are wrong, but they are going to be keeping an eye on me now!

24 or 27+3 today- thats gunna get confusing!

    Confusing indeed!
I think I might be in the same boat, my dates were different from theirs and I've been getting all of my symptoms about 2 weeks earlier and my baby is mysteriously measuring big:rotfl:

Dates are always changeable, LMP isn't totally accurate. But they'll always go by the scan dates. I know I'm due a few days earlier, as I had OV pain and know when I started being sick which was my first sign. MW has said it's not really a concern until you hit the due date, then they'll make sure you don't go too far over.

Baby is possibly breech so she's got two weeks to turn or they'll do a scan to check her position and think about earlier delivery...scary!

I'm still not "officially" on maternity leave - that starts next Monday but on "holiday" BUT sitting at home starting to mark exam papers - but seriously bored!!!

We moved into our new home last night - 10pm - stupid time eh! The neighbours probably thought we were burglars! Still things to do - but I already feel as though I have cut things finely - if baby had arrived early...it would have been sleeping in a drawer!!!!:D

Am tired and totally unmotivated - although I did just get distracted and bought some bendy straws 99p from Play.com in order to get 250 welcome points from Boots Treat Street! I expect at this rate, I will spend more than I earn!:rotfl:

Anyone doing anything more interesting than me today?? (can't be hard!)

I'd rather be in your shoes than at work :rotfl:

Not got my full exam result yet but I got 35/40 for the written part which means I only need another 15 marks out of 60 for a pass - and considering my accounts balanced I must have done something right, should hear on Tuesday.

Dressed all wrong for the warm weather yesterday and ended up feeling really sick all day. Wearing a maxi and flip-flops today so hoping to fair a bit better!
