First day of maternity leave today - woo-hoooo! :D
But I have an exam tomorrow morning, so will be spending most of today studying - boooooooo! :(

I'll be making a start on Operation Get Organised though. The covers off the moses basket are currently waiting to go in the washing machine, then I'll get the covers off the car seat washed too. I'm also going to make a start on packing my hospital bag.

My arm was sore for a couple of days after the whooping cough jab too. Hopefully it'll ease up soon, NickiAnn.

I'm expecting to still be in maternity clothes for a good few weeks after the baby arrives. It usually takes a little while for your mum-tum to go back down.

Good luck with the scan today, snozberry. Is this to see where your placenta is, or am I confusing you with someone else? :o

Hey all. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Congrats to all the new mummies!

I think for nursing I'm just going to get some cheapie vests from primark to wear underneath my clothes. All the nursing tops I've seen are expensive and look a bit weird haha.

Good luck for your scan snozberry, hope you get the answer you want.

How did your exam go claree? I passed mine, so happy! No more now til at least September :-D

Omg the other day I woke up and my boobs had leaked in the night! My pj top was all wet, scared the living life out of me! Hasn't happened again since, but I went out and bought some breast pads just in case it does and now I'm paranoid about it and keep casually looking down my top without realising, people must this I'm a right nutter...

    Hope your all well

    morning,

so glad the scan went well snozberry, must be a relief.

nikkiann, yep I had a very sore arm after my jab, not nice, but it does go within a couple of days.

Thanks for all the breastfeeding clothing advice. The trouble I have is that I always wear knee length dresses and thin tights in the summer, and none of them button down the front..... so don't really have summer tops anyway..... hmmmm.... am going to have to go through my wardrobe and have a bit of a think.

Claree I hope the MW went ok.

Well baby didn't come in the night, stomach isn't all that hard now either, but been getting a few period type cramps, but that could be anything I guess. Roo is much much better, so really pleased about that :)

Due date today!!! Still haven't finished my assignment... OH has taken roo to go and play in the lounge so I can get on. Going to make a coffee then get my bum in gear.

Hmmmm have got new neighbours that appeared last night and have turned up again this morning with lots of DIY type stuff, wood and big hammers etc... I really hope that they are not going to be doing work on the house for long as I really don't want a new baby being disturbed by copious amounts of DIY work from next door!!!

Am going to try bouncing on my ball later and see what that does to bring on labour. Am waiting with bated breath for the all the texts and phonecalls I'm going to get today, all the, 'how you feeling', and 'have you had the baby yet?' type annoying texts... in fact thinking about it, I may well turn my phone off!!

    Hope you're all ok

    xx

People don't know what they want until you show them.

thanks kayalana, I can't get excited though as they seem to have disappeared! :(

Right done an hour of my assignement, just need to get my bum in gear and do the rest. Am hoping that another couple of hours will do it.

Just been to my MW appointment and everything seems good. Blood sugar is now normal again (yay!) so I don't have to do the icky diabetes test but they're going to monitor it.

She originally told me to come back in 4 weeks but when they measured tiny human she said she was a "good size" but not in a good = positive way more a good = polite way to say huge way, so I've to go back in 2 weeks instead. That and her head was down (So? She can still move all around!) and she seems happy (how they know this I'll never know!)

Just into the office now, could get used to starting at 11 :D

Glad everything went well Claree! MW always says that to me too 'oh he's very happy in there'. I think they just make that assumption because the heartbeat is good and baby is in a good position and wriggling around. You never know though - they could be in a proper bad mood for all we know! Lol!

Just ordered a Miracle Box birth ball pack from boots. It has £6 off at the moment and I earned 230 points because of the parenting club thing. I'm going to try the excersises in the book it comes with - been getting sore hips and lower back, especially at night so hoping it will help!

glad all went well with the midwife Claree. It amazes me how much the MW can tell just from having a feel!

Lovecake, I love my birthing ball, so comfy just for sitting on and watching tv, as you can wiggle around on it, or bounce if you like. I find this far more comfortable than trying to sit on the sofa or up in bed. I hope you get some good exercises for you and that your aches improve.

grrr still no signs of baby coming, mind you still haven't finished my assignment, honestly, I'm nearly there, then I can stop boring you with it! :) Maybe baby is just waiting for me to hand it in? Going to try and get it in by 1ish, have some lunch and then maybe go for a walk, if the rain holds off long enough! She says hopefully.
