Friends are strange when you have a baby. My "best friend" has been over a handful of times to see the baby. She hardly ever texts or rings, she's really unrealiable anyway. She was my chief bridesmaid and she keeps going on and on about being godmother- no chance!!
Icing on the cake she popped over last night knowing full well I was in work to see my DH to show off her new boyfriend. Is it super strange?? She seems to ring and text my DH more than me- I'm not thinking there is anything untoward just that she seems to be his friend more than mine now?!?!
You make loads of new friends when you have a baby so don't worry about it and you will have more in common. Not sure how it works when you have 2 babies thoughGot married 13/11/10

I think this just happens sometimes. My Ex actally stopped seeing his main friends because when we got together we used to hang out with them alot and just over a short time we was meeting up with them they all started texting me instead of him asking if we wanted to do this or we wanted to do that... he basicly got jealous as they were asking me to do things over him even though it was an invite for both of us..tbf he was the 'quiet one' of the group.
She doesnt really sound like much of a 'friend' but more of someone who is their to have a good laugh with but not for the important stuff?People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
oh Ihatedida, seems like you have a million and one things to do, poor you. Lola888 your 'best friend' doesn't sound all that great to be honest. I can't say I would be overly chuffed with that situation.... but then thats me and im the jealous sort lol
Don't shout at me, I've written 2090 words on my assignment so far, I need to make it up to atleast 3000, going to try and do atleast 30 mins more tonight.
Have to hand it in regardless of what state its in tomorrow anyway. Very much looking forward to friday when I can relax and put my feet up, well until the baby comes anyway! Mind you I've just written that and I am in full on nesting mode, have done tons of cleaning today and really want to get on with some more. I feel the need to bleach everything! Not sure why?! But I guess that will be what I'll be doing on friday rather than relaxing, but then good old scrubbing should hopefully bring the baby on.0 -
Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been about since last week!
Claree - don't worry about getting a needle in, I have seen needles going into people with the worst access, trust me, if they need it then they'll get it in!
Hope you manage to get the assignment done tonight Missymoo, there is nothing to beat the feeling of getting an assignment submitted.
I took your suggestions and have treated myself to a couple of dresses from Primark - one a maxi and one a midi, have to say I love them, they are so comfy! I also got my hospital pjs, I know hospitals in July are really warm so I wanted something very light and that buttoned down the front, Primark have lovely ones in for £7, cropped legs and short sleeves and a light cotton dressing gown as well. Have bought a couple of baby things in Asda as well, but no clothes yet! Am having lots of fun looking though, its strange looking for boys stuff and not girls.
Work wise I finish 4 weeks from tomorrow, part of me is terrified because its so close but a big part is relieved, 14 hour days are exhausting me at the minute and I'm really fit for nothing the next day. When I was at maternity last week my consultant was asking when I planned to finish and wasn't impressed when I said 34 weeks, especially when I told him that I'm still working long days!Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
girlzmum, your jarmies sound lovely, I've got some primark nighties and a dressing gown in my hospital case. and Poor you working such long hours, I don't know how you do it, I had a job where I was constantly on my feet in my last pregnancy and I was exhausted all of the time! Have written 2957 words, just need to do a bit of reworking tomorrow and then my assignment is gone, next one isn't due until October, will be such a relief when I hit that send button!
Was thinking earlier, what am I going to wear as normal clothes once I've had the baby...... last time I had lots of long sleeved button down tops and skirts I could wear which were easy access for breast feeding. But it's the wrong season now, and I can't really wear the long sleeved tops.... Really haven't thought about this before now....think I've got some vest tops with buttons, but theyre in rather lurid colours, more pyjamay than anything. Think I might need to go on a trip to Primark and get some normal coloured vests and some cardis... but then what to wear on my bottom half. I'm pretty sure my jeans aren't going to fit, or look decent for a good long time.... God why didn't I think of this before!0 -
Missymoo - I'm going to go with strappy vest tops under normal summery tops that I'd wear, then the top can come up and the vest top can be pulled down for easy feeding. Then have unstretched maternity jeans for now, and elasticated trousers and skirts for the bottom part. Or if we actually get a summer, several maxis that are easy access!0

I haven't even thought about normal clothes lol and I am still struggling with nursing bras.
Scan day today and, hopefully, we will find out how baby is being born.

Had my whooping cough jab yesterday (a little late but better than never at all!)

Plus been up since 5.30am because I just couldn't sleep
Friends wedding on Saturday and I still haven't got an outfit sorted, OH has taken the car today so I'm stuck at home and generally feeling miserable!
.......oh dear, I think I need to lock myself in a dark room until I cheer up - Sorry everyone!New first time mummy to a gorgeous little boy!

In my experience of breastfeeding (10 months and still going strong), this is the best way to do it. Flashes the least amount of boob.
