Huge congratulations niknok, love the name.

Claree, don't panic about veins etc. I have really small veins but they are so used to doing it in the hospitals etc they'll find a vein don't you worry.

Shhhh all you people talking about going over due, I've got 2 days to go and really no sign of anything happening any time soon! Saw the midwife today and everything's fine and they'll give me a sweep on friday if i still haven't gone into labour. Getting a bit sick of the texts now, asking of I've popped! I guess atleast it's giving me time to finish my assignment. Roo is super poorly too, crying all night and a super high temperature. I really hope he gets better soon, before the baby gets here, as I really don't want to leave him at the moment.

I think I'm maybe just worrying for the sake of worrying tbh. I know it's probably nothing but you know what it's like when you've got it in your head.

I'll mention it to the MW on Thurs n see what she says, no doubt she'll laugh at me :rotfl:

Just another "I'm terrified about..." that I've been stressing about this weekend. My veins are really, really awful - it usually takes 3 or 4 attempts and an "expert" to find a vein. What if something happens and they have to put a drip in quickly and they can't find a vein?

    Is that stupid?

I wouldn't worry Claree. My veins don't always co-operate either. Last time I went under general anaesthetic they couldn't get the vein in one hand and had to do the other in the end, but it didn't take that long. I don't think a few minutes will make a difference and usually the decision is made with in advance/with time to spare. I'm sure they deal with people with all sorts of crappy veins. My mum was the sam, she sometimes has to have it in the side of her hand below her thumb, but they are used to trying all sorts. You'll be in safe hands I'm sure :)

    Congratulations niknok!

I know at the end of pregnancy everyone is tired and fed up but at the moment im only 24 weeks and for the past theee days ive struggled to get out of bed im just so tired! When did all u ladies who are further on start feeling tired again? I'm sure i shouldnt be feeling this run down, I have been wondering if maybe my iron levels are low?? I have an appointment on the 30th with the m/w so i can ask her then but just wondered how everyone else felt at this stage x

Poor you! I started to feel better at about 16-18 weeks and had plenty energy until about a fortnight ago when I was 31 weeks. I would say that at 24 weeks you should probably be ok energy wise so might be worth taking some vitamins to give you a boost. I have taken various brands of pregnancy vitamins all through my pregnancy - I didn't stop taking them after the first trimester and the midwife says that's probably why my iron levels are so good. If pregnacare doesn't suit then maybe try another brand. I tend to buy whatever is discounted or has some sort of offer on it. Hope you get your energy back soon!

Complained to British Gas about them not coming in the morning yesterday like they said they would and how I had to take a full day off work instead of a half day unpaid and told them I wanted them to refund my £50 call out charge - think I laid it on a bit thick telling them I was 6 months pregnant and without clean hot water for x amount of time etc etc :rotfl:

Forgot to tell OH about it and he just got a phonecall from them saying they'll send out a cheque for my £50 :D

Didn't think to tell them my day off was paid after all - who would?!

I generally struggle to get out of bed so I can't help much there but once I'm up I'm okay until about 6pm(ish) when I feel like I could nap - I've not given it to this yet but I might - then I struggle to fall asleep at night, how annoying? :rotfl:

I'd mention it to the MW and see what she says :) Have you been drinking enough water?

From Sunday morning to 2pm yesterday I had no heating or hot water at all and it was 5pm before my water ran clear enough to actually use it!

It's fixed now thankfully and I'm getting my money back so I'm just hoping it doesn't go off again.
  • Claree - i think im drinking enough, maybe not mind, will try to drink more. Problem is i cant drink after a certain tome otherwise i'm up all night. Mw has told me to start taking pregnacare, so ive ordered it with my food shop for tomorrow night :) she also said i could pop to the clinic on thurs if i wanted which i will if i feel the same.
Had to cancel my plans tonight because i feel so rubbish!
Well done with getting the £50! If u dont ask u dont get :)

Lovecake- thank u,it is horrible.i felt rubbish until 14 weeks but then felt perfectly fine until 3 days ago. Now i feel like im back in the first trimester! Wouldnt mind if i knew i was about to have the baby x
Still here..... but working on that!
