MissMonkeyMoo - I think the same about the natural vs drugs with breastfeeding except I think possibly if there is an epidural it's not supposed to affect baby? I'm more worried about a caesar affecting baby's suckling though, did they say anything about that (of course then you have drugs and not being squeezed out of the birth canal!)0

That sounds tough. I worked with a woman who had terrible hayfever, but it disappeared for her whole pregnancy! (She did have morning sickness for about 35 weeks, so she needed some positives!)
Oh I like the idea of no hayfever (although not the extended morning sickness), wish that had happened to me!
This must be the first summer I'm wishing for the return of crap weather! It's just too hot to sleep, and my feet and ankles are the size of my thighs!
It'll all be worth it in the end though

fluffnutter wrote: »I refused an induction at first. I went to hospital after contracting all night only for my labour to stall when I was there. They wanted to induce me (I was 41+1 with a history of raised BP) but as I was clearly in labour (albeit not established) I asked to be left for 24 hours to see if things got going on their own.
They did. I went home and six or so hours later my waters broke and I started with effective contractions and was 4cm dilated by the time I went back to hospital at teatime. Unfortunately I stalled in the early hours of the next day and stayed at 6cm for four hours. Hence the oxytocin drip. At some point, they can't leave you. They've got to get labour going again as it's too much of an infection risk to wander around with a 6cm gap in your fanny.
I'd definitely recommend trying to go into labour naturally though. If you can avoid an induction, do so.
Def agree, if you are in labour. I just mean if you have no signs of labour and aren't favourable. I never got as far as labour, so can't comment on that!0 -
I've just discovered Freddie can roll  Is that normal?? He's not even three weeks yet. Just walked into the sitting room to find him flailing about on his tum. Yikes!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Freddie didn't really want to feed for the first 36 hours after he was cut out. Making up for it now though
You're right - epidurals don't affect the baby."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Thanks Fluff, I've just sprayed tea all over my monitor at work :rotfl: Glad Freddie's getting on so well, he sounds lush
morning all
hope you all managed to get *some* sleep last night, our room was so hot, and I woke up at 4am and DH had folded his half of the duvet on top of me! think I'll hunt out a sheet to use instead until the heat breaks :rotfl:
I forgot to post about when I went in the (very cold) sea at the beach on Sunday - as soon as a wave washed over my bump, Beanie went mad, I got hit in 3 places at once. Think the poor thing was surprised :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
In other news.... I have definatley got a bigger bum/thighs now. It's no longer a case of my trousers fitting with the zip undone, they're now tight by bum/thighs even then!
And there I thought I was all neat and just getting bigger in bump/boobs! Time to continue the maternity clothes shopping, just wish I knew what the weather was playing at...

I weighed myself this morning and at nearly 21 weeks I've gained 8lb. I hope I can be good and not gain too much the rest of this pregnancy!
A girl in my work is a size 6 and when she was pregnant she went from 7 stone to 14 stone 8lbs! She said it took a year to get it off.0 -
Yep, I was about that weight pre-pregnancy, I was about 50kg at book-in according to my notes..... We don't have a scale at home though so no idea what I weigh now!0
