Just wondering if you know how long it takes for AAT to sort your registration out? I want to take my first exam on 23rd of May but have only just sent my letter out today..can't even book it untill I have my AAT number :(

I have also just been looking at the booking forms and it *seems* (though im not sure!) you can take the exams even if you study with someone else...so I am going to be looking into if I can just buy the books on Ebay and do the exams?! The course cost me £130 (without exam fees) for this module but except for the mock exams online which will probally be really helpful everything I need is in these books I can get off ebay for probally under £20  It would really help me out if I could just get away with exam fees & book fees for now..:o And seems like such a waste of money as an extra £100 basicly for mock exams...

    Hey

My registration took a couple of weeks to sort out not too long. Round here tho the exams get fully booked so it may be worth you phoning them and holding a place? Not sure they can do it but worth a try.

I'm studying with bpp and With them you can just book onto the exam with no course, so you don't need a course at all. I did the online distance learning package where you get video lectures, text book, notes, pass cards and question bank for each module and I found the videos really useful. But on level 2 I definitely could have passed with just the text book and question bank for sure. Luckily I didn't need to worry about the cost I just pass the invoices over to my boss to pay

I do actually have a whole set of level 2 books (a bit scribbled on and highlighted!!). I can't see that I will need them again... They are a year or 2 old though and I don't know if anything has changed since then

    Hope that helps

Also, forgot to say, there are lots of practice exams on the AAT website too once you have a AAT number and login you can access all of them for all the modules without paying any extra

I feel the same way about keeping Joe at the childminder, MV. Having him with me 24/7 would be a massive change for him, never mind throwing a new baby into the mix. Plus he loves to see his little friends and the childminder does so much with the children that I doubt I'll manage with a newborn in tow - this week they've had a trip to the zoo, a trip to a farm and today were going for a long walk in the fields around where we live (tractors galore!).

Plus, childminders are like gold dust around here and ours is brilliant. I couldn't expect her to hold DS's place til my maternity leave finishes and chances are she wouldn't have a space for him to go back.

We're going to be seriously broke while I'm on maternity leave with having to cover the cost of childcare, but I do think it'll be the best thing for DS.

I don't know whether you get child care vouchers through your work, but if you do they still have to pay your vouchers on top of SMP and additional maternity leave if you take it.

And if not, then don't tax credits still pay as you are still employed whilst on maternity leave?

Just a quick one to say if you're part of Amazon family they are offering £25 off the medela swing until Sunday 5th, it is £99.99 at the moment so it would take it down to £75 which is an absolute steal.

Unfortunately my employer doesn't do them :( They keep saying they'll introduce it, but nothing ever comes of it.

I don't normally qualify as we earn too much, but I did get tax credits the last time I was on maternity leave, so will see about applying again this time.

Thanks Baleb, Was kind but I've found out I can get the books direct from Kaplan (tbh I am not sure what I have paid now other then the mock exams since I could of just brought them straight out for £18 a book? :/)

Hopefully the AAT reg will come in next two weeks it says I have to book 5 days before but if I miss this exam I am back to work the week after for 11 weeks and its going to be hard to book the next one...eep.

Bless you pigpen. I am bigger but then I'm 37 weeks! But that is an impressive bump! Maybe you won't get much bigger and the baby will just fill the space that's there?
