Aaah what a crap day, I have failed a re-sit of a work exam I failed a few weeks ago! Can't believe it, guess my brain just isn't working like it normally does! I cried for an hour solid when I got the call then took to my bed! Drama queen or what!!0

Oh dippy, poor you, I can completely sympathise. I've been trying to write assignments and my marks have been getting lower and lower!!! It is a scientific fact (I think) that some of your brain power doesn't work as it should in pregnancy. Keep your chin up my dear, it is just a temporary thing. X0

Thanks Missy, i feel awful about it! I have basically done a 6 month course, passed all the most difficult exams so had a promotion then got to the final exams-considered to be the easiest and noone really fails them and here i am failing one of them twice!! what a dumbass. My boss is really supportive but says we may have to play the 'baby brain' card to get them to sort it out and hopefully let me pass the course anyway! we will see. I am finishing work May 31st so hope it's sorted by then!0

Happy Friday preggers people.
I am now 'officially' able to post on this thread as I am now 24+1. Cant believe how fast it is going this time.
Dippy - sorry about your exam. I find my brain is pretty mushy at the moment and forget really simple stuff, so god knows I'd be dreadful at any kind of exam.
My 2 year old seems to be really kicking up at the moment. The health visitor who came to visit a couple of weeks ago said he probably senses' the new baby coming, but I can't see how this would be.
The fear of a newborn and a toddler is very real at the moment, but Im trying not to get myself too wound up about it all as theres not much I can do now!
Hope everyone gets to enjoy a bit of sunshine today.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
I know that fear MV! I have no idea how I'm going to cope with a newborn and a toddler. At the moment DS is quite chilled about the "brother in mummy's tummy", but I suspect the reality will be quite different!
I'm just reassuring myself that people do cope, so I should survive. And my hair is grey already, so that's not worth worrying about
And welcome to the "big" thread - I can't believe you're at 24 weeks already!
Sorry to hear about your exam, dippy. Fingers crossed the baby brain card will work. I've got an exam on my last day in work before maternity leave and there is not a hope in hell of me passing itIt's really hard and I just don't have the energy to study for it in the evenings. When I do get some time to study while my brain is still working reasonably well, it just makes no sense to me at all. I was definitely being over-ambitious when I booked that one.
And I've just gone and ordered a new mattress as our current one is well past it and I suspect contributing to my achy hips and back. So that probably guarantees that my waters are going to break in bedI'd better sort out some water-proofing for my side.

Sorry about the exam dippy - I have one in a fortnight and I'm terrified about it. I really need to pass this with a good grade to help my applications next year and I know what the questions will be, I just need to learn!
Bigbird I bought new pillows yesterday, SO good. Actual proper joy from them last night!

From friends who've got more than one kids, making a big deal of the child being a big brother/sister seems to really help. Lots of people gave big sister gifts to my friend's little girl and it really seemed to help her get used to her role in the idea, she was 5 but it might work with younger ones too.0

I have 2 toddlers and this one will arrive probably between their 2nd and 3rd birthdays. They don't sense the baby, what a stupid idea.. they sense you are tired and maybe not moving about as well as you did and are pushing the boundaries to see what they can get away with.
There are 13 months between the last 2 and a 2 year gap is a walk in the park by comparison.. the older one can walk and play independently and may well be toilet trained etc.. it is possibly the easiest gap. Just don't make out it is something amazing.. they don't think it is, they just need to be included but what crappy parent would leave a toddler out. I have mine help.. they undo poppers on sleepsuits and pass wipes and nappies etc. We have cuddles and stories while feeding. I think the worst thing to do is say 'go play while I see to the baby'.. we say 'yes that sounds nice/fun/good let me do this and we can do that/I will just be a minute' ..

I found going from 1 to 2 children, easier than 0 to 1 which is weird. You just seem to fit the newborn in with the current routine you have and everything seems to work
I also bought DD1 a present from DD2 when she was first born (baby doll) so she could play with her baby when I was attending to DD2. Worked like a dream

I think it's just fear of the unknown tbh. I remember it being hard work with one newborn and the thought of have one (or more!) plus a toddler to entertain is a bit daunting. But I'm sure we'll all be fine. A friend of mine said she found it harder being pregnant with a toddler than having a newborn plus a toddler, which has made me feel a bit better :-)0
