Hello, sorry for those that are feeling rubbish.

I've been to see the midwife and I'm measuring 4cms bigger than I should be :( I've got to go for a glucose tolerance testy thing on Friday to check for diabetes, then if that's ruled out I've got to go for a scan to check on my fluid levels around the baby, if that's not the case I'm just having a giant baby and will need monitoring, so I don't think I can now have the baby in the mid wife led unit like I was after and am going to have to spend my time in and out of the Drs/hospital, I'm glad baby's fine, her head is fully engaged too, was just hoping it would all be simple like my first one. Does anyone know if it's early for the head to be engaged at 34 weeks? I think my dates might be out and I'm further along than they think, but who knows....

Oh claretsgorl so so pleased you're all ok!!!! Huge hugs xx

Couldn't have a sweep due to cervix being wrong way - I knew this was a possibility anyway as I have never been able to have a sweep before. Never mind - hot curry later it is then :D DH was hoping for the hot s*x bit, but not sure that is even physically possibly anymore :rotfl:

Saffa - never been on a canal boat holiday but have taken mine on various holidays at a very young age. My daughter went camping at 7 weeks and slept like a dream - all that fresh air lol. They aren't doing much at 4 months old so I really couldn't see it being a problem - I find babies really easy till they become mobile and that is when the fun starts :D If you have family to help out with the entertaining of baby too, you will be fine - particularly if baby is nosey and likes to be up and looking round all the time!

helen - at least you won't be going overdue!!! You are going to have your baby the day before me at this rate!!!

missymoo, I engaged partway before 35weeks (and it would have been more like 34 as their dates were wrong). Baby arrived at t+17 in the end

Well the MW said the head was all the way down so I'm pretty sure the head is fully engaged.

No they won't try at all - I am booked in for an induction next Tuesday anyway. Its the positioning of my cervix that is the problem - I struggle with a smear test and any kind of internal - just got weird insides.

I am usually induced early due to the size of my babies (last one was 2 weeks early and 9lb 8 oz) but they feel I should manage this time with a large baby without an early induction and wanted to see if I went on my own. As I delivered all the others naturally they feel I should cope with another biggie!!!! Doesn't look like baby is aware of that fact though :D So I won't be refusing an induction now that I cant have a sweep, just in case he ends up tipping the scales at 12lb plus like my last one was estimated.

missymoo - I always measure way over - up to 8cm at some points in my pregnancy - but I do even out by the end. Have been tested for GTT but nothing - if anything I am on the lower end of the scale. As my MW said, some people just make juicy babies :D

As for engaging - none of mine have engaged at all until I am in labor so can't help out on that one.

savage - did the acupuncture hurt???? (I hate needles)

I have a week to look at other options - do you think it worked with bringing on labor?
